currently my handbrake light stays on wheater it's up or down...& i heard that u clean the cable & blow the dirt off it will go away is that true?? & also how do you tighten the handbrake so it can brake harder?

clean the contacts on the lever......If that doesn't fix it check you fluid level.As far as trying to make the e-brake clamp harder first check your pad thickness as it may be on the low side so it may need replacing.

im not real familiar where the contacts is on the lever...what do it look like?

That bothered me...
If your pads are fine you can pull the handle all the way up and look underneath it. That small bolt there is how you tighten it.

Yes and no. The brake warning light is also connected to the master cylinder to let you know that you have low brake fluid.
how do you tighten the handbrake so it can brake harder?
Check the FSM. There is a little nut that you can use to adjust the relationship of the handle to the movement of the rear calipers.

yea, I got the same problem. my mechanic cleaned off the contacts but it still didnt work, and my brake fluid is full... the action is super hard too.. anybody have any other suggestions for us?

mine did that when i got it. just take the ceter consol arm reast, watever thing out and u can clean it. theres a little spring that u can play wioth and itl stop, might take a couple tries. thats all i had to do:D
