im doing some engine work this winter and wont some input tell me what you've done and were you went
doing my timing chain and head gasket for normal maitnense. but if figured while im in here i might as well do what i can i dont want to tear into my engine again after this. im not looking for crazy power and im not planning on busting. i just want to get some more out of my car without sinking 5 grand into my engine bay.
car: 95 s14 ka24de
what i have done : full exhaust: greddy header down pipe, catco 2.5" cat, 2.5 hks super dragger. aem intake. unorthodox crank pulley. s13 cams. walbro 255hp fuel pump. nismo fpr (not installed yet)
what i was thinking so fare: good port and polish job. match the intake and exhaust ports. mult angle valve job. rom tune the ecu. possibly bigger cams.
ive read that the ka valve train is really strong and will hold up to 400hp but ive also read that double wound springs with ti retainers help hold the valve against the seat for a better seal. what about replacing the stock valves with same size s.s. valves. is it worth the money should i go with a 264 cam, if i do should i replace anything, its the same price to go with the 272 cam but would that be overkill or hurt me more then help.
would milling the head help.
tell me what youve done how it worked.
