Stupid ungoldly retarded question...

I have been tune and testing my 180SX's suspension on GT3 and so far I have found a really acceptable setup for my style of racing. Are those realistic specs, and does anyone have any clue of how close the systems would match up as per handeling? Minus ASC and TCS of course...

I know this is a retarded ??? but I am trying to find a realativly cheap way of testing different setting for real world driving.

bty. I will not be selling the 90 FB when I get my MCS14. My 180 will be a strictly auto-x vehicle while the MCS14 will be the street/strip/road/show car... all in one loser...

GT3 is realistic enough..
but i cant say its 100% realistic
real world is just different with virtual reality
thats all i can say...
besides.. in GT3.. we drive around a race track
while we on the other hand.. drive on public roads

the physics of the stuff is just different... GT3 didnt include much more detailed physics than it is in the real world

there is no way a video game could acurately reproduce the real world. I mean imagine all the variables that are being ignored.

You just play the game....leave the real driving to the men. (and women:D)

GT3 actually has a ton of real-life physics programmed into it, that is what makes it so badass... of course there is no replacement for real life and ultimately there is no way to tell how a setup will work without testing it on the street.

i think it was AutoWeek that had a short column about the game when it was first coming out... they took an NSX S Zero around Tsukuba in real life and on the Japan-spec game. times in the game were quicker (because in real life you don't get a reset button) but they said it was pretty realistic. i still wouldn't use it to set my suspension up though... maybe get a baseline to start from, but not much more than that.

Put it this way, your steering wheel rotates like 2 time more than a GT3 steering wheel, so steering response will not be the easiest to test, unless you spend time trying to find out equivalents to real life steering.

You said you needed it for autocross, well there aren't really any tracks that come close to simulating autcross speeds and turns, but I guess Complex String would come the closest, although you are usually going pretty fast in that, but some of those turns give you a good feel of how your car handles.

I actually find it fun to go and just buy some car lke the Silvia S13 with CA18, and do mods that I would to a car, minor turbo and suspension, and just play with it, this game is kind of a good teacher, it teaches you the differences in what different setting will do for your car, although they might not have perfect effects, they at least give you a general feel of the differences in settings.
