I am planning to wrap my car with vinyl instead of painting it. Looks like it is cheaper alternative for a track car. However, I ran into sourcing out the supply??? I was searching on ebay but they only have a limited selection on colour and size. Can you use 24" roll to wrap or with 48" be a better choice?? I am thinking with a wider sheet, there will be lines on the car. Can any one lead me to the right direction of where to source the supply?? Thanks

^^ really?? I can't really find anything beside the Vinyl wrapped drift car thread on OT.

To:dori_sil8t, thanks for the link..but they don't have much choice on 24" roll. I am mainly looking for Dark blue, Dark purple or Black with glitter..or chrome.

vinyl is a horrible alternative to paint. Looks worst, cost more, and doesn't last as long.

the Vinyl dealers on there are the same. Its probably the cheapest you will find.
Also, i would think darker colors would look bad quiker.

go to the other thread and ask them on there and follow the links that are already on there.

I've wrap couple of small things but nothing like a car that big. I think it's worth a try though..It is not that hard with a heat gun n some patient.

its another word for cheap plastic that will stretch and peel in situations of extreme heat.

you ever wax your car? i doubt you'll ever do that again with a vinyl car.

If you've never wrapped a car, DONT START BY WRAPPING YOUR OWN TRACK CAR. It takes hundreds of hours of practice, and an unbelievable amount of patience.

Why not just get a single color painted on your car, then, cut custom vinyl for it, but NOT wrap it? You can pick up your own cutter for the price of a wrap on ebay or at JZGraphics Vinyl cutters (http://jzgraphics.com)

SERIOUSLY! No wrappy. thanky.

So many people talking out there ass lol, if you have never wrapped a car, you should wrap your track car and practice on that if you want to go the vinyl route. It is hard but it is not to bad, if you want the car to look good from 5 feet away then do it, but you will always have seams.

Also you will need 2 rolls of 24"x30' that is more than enough to do your whole car. if you do much bigger you will need at least one other person to help you and you will most likely F it up really bad. Also heat gun destroys most of the paper street plastic stuff really quick. PM me if you got any Q's.

that is pretty sad.
Get some rims. (anything)
lower that 4x4.
if you have a decent car, dont vinyl ! imo

All us guys that are doing vinyl are doing it to our track cars so repairs can be made on the cheap and hidden.

I meant to close this last night, since it is a noted repost of a thread already in off topic.
