I recently bought a 5 bolt ABS VLSD from a member on here. It looks like the pumpkin is from a S14 but I could be wrong. I currently have an open diff in my 1996 ABS 240sx which has 6bolts. I was wondering is there any way that I can put this vlsd in my car? What parts would I need to make it work? Thanks

Since I have a spare open diff that is 6bolt, can I take the open diff 6bolt axle and put it into the abs vlsd? Where can I find 5 bolt axles at?

you can get the axles from a 240 with 5 bolt axles or from some other cars like infiniti or something. i have the vlsd from a 180sx and i had to swap the axles because it's 5 bolt.

That's a Z32 NA diff, early model. You'll notice the ABS rings on the output shafts, the Z32 uses a 4channel ABS system. S13/S14/J30 uses a 3channel and would have the wheel skid sensor on the front snout. Since it's the Z32 unit you'll need early J30 axles (92-94) and they're a tight fit, the added length from the ABS rings is just over a half inch per side and that will compress the axle that much more. The better option is to get a pair of 6bolt VLSD output shafts and swap those in, that way you can keep your existing axles and have no tolerance problems.

nope, you cant swap an open diff output shaft into VLSD. you cant either get JDM 180SX/J30 5 bolt axle or 6 bolt VLSD output shaft.
heres a pretty write up about swapping VLSD

im using the same diff in my s-13 with J-30 axles, and as russ mentioned, they are a "tight" fit, but i havnt noticed any issues with it.
