Today was the first time i ever been there....it was like Heaven. SR20's, Rb's, LAncer engines,B18c's, MR2 engines, Celicas 4WD, everywhere you see!!! They even had a room where there were headlights and tail lights!!! I even got to hold one S15 headlight in my very own hands!!!!:o There was a Hispanic guy that helped me and a chinese dude that was sweeping the floor but he new where every single engine was! O yea did i mention there was like a whole table of SR's just laying around!!! There was even a yellow 92-98 M3 front clip!!!I want to go back sooo bad hehe
Just sharing my experience even though i'm dead broke on buying a engine....:(

It's in Santa Clara, CA. I ordered my CA front clip from them. (It is ready to be delivered to my friends garage but I havent gotten it scheduled yet) You get royally bent over if you ship it though, lol. $520 for shipping to PA. Yeah I know, but they send the liftgate with it to get it off the truck. Seems like a fun place to go to. We dont have anything like that near me.

I WISH it was in Santa Clara. That would be 5 minutes away for me. ;)
It's in Sacramento. About 1.5 hrs away. I should take a trip there one day to check it out. Going to a shop in SF tomorrow which has 5 clips. Same prices as Venus too.

Holy crap Venus is cheap. . .
$1000 for an rb20 clip!?
Outside of their specials, there aren't any prices on their website. . . Anybody perchance know what their CAs and SRs are going for?

there RB prices are cheap because RB's are a hard sale. Most importerers do not sell RB clips that often. You can get decent deals on them in Japan and that allows you to sell them cheap here. Fact is RB's are dope and great engines. If your concerned about tailpipe emissions though a RB will never pass a SR will. Also getting parts for a RB in the states is just a pain. EVen the guys at MotoRex will tell you that.
Hence why dealers sell the RB's for smoking prices. Also Venus has figured out a way to create a niche business so they are not competing head to head with all the SR dealers out there. Sell RB's sell them cheap , move tons of them.

yeah there pretty cool, i actually called them and they were kinda rude to me so i really don't like them, I have also heard things about them, but honestly i don't know if i should believe them. Anyways there is a place in san fran which i personally think is ten times better. why do i think its better well because...
they have a right hand drive s15, and believe it or not a r33 sitting in there wherehouse.
plus the guys were just plain out nice to us, I personally plan to get my clip from them.

Sounds like Japan Auto to me. While I haven't been there myself, nor have I met any of them, I do know someone who got their SR swap done there, and...
No Comment.
All I'm sayin' is be careful. Even if they seem like cool guys, they might not be the best businessmen... my friend learned this the hard way recently when he bought his SR20.

I personally wouldnt buy anything from venus auto. There's a lot of things i've heard about them. They have ****ty warrenties, and are hella shady. Sold my friend a blown motor but charged him $500 to replace it. Basically they dont hand pick there stuff. Japan Auto, they hand pick the clips they want. Plus, the people at Japan Auto you can trust. IM a regular customer there:cool: and they give me really really good deals now. LIke 400 bucks for tiens(used but works fine on my car)!! but anyway, the only thing is there is a Shemale that works there that scares me. and he she remembers my name everytime i come in!!

Other than taking too long to ship I'm extremely happy with venus-auto so far. SO FAR being the key word, I haven't gotten the motor in and running yet. They got me my clip 3 days after it shipped. I also got a bunch of extra parts with it, i.e. aftermarket, although that has nothing to do with them, bu I still got it in a timely manner. The only problem I see is that I ordered it on a monday of one week payment recieved and they didn;t ship it til the following monday when said it was supposed to be shipped on thursday of the same week. Other than that everything was fine, except they use the R32 floormats to cusion the hubs on the pallete, but that doesn't matter.

whats the url on japan auto? or do they have a web site?

redlineracer, as far as I know they don't have a web site.
Drift Style S14, without going into too many specifics, they did a half-assed install on my friend's SR. Didn't even change the tach (despite the fact that my friend purchased a half cut), and left all kinds of **** (like vacuum lines) unplugged; also didnt upgrade the fuel pump.
The harness was also ghetto'd across the front of the engine bay and they didnt even try and make it look clean. Basically I'm not happy at all with what I saw. I expect more from a shop than that, and I've seen much better (from SoCal).
I can't speak on them personally, but I'm not taking issue with the people, I take issue with their work, which isn't good.
As far as buying parts, I can't tell ya anything really. I would just be careful.
There's not many options for us NorCal heads anyways.

if you search, and find a thread, don't resurrect it. Commenting in a thread a year old is like talking to your friends, then coming back two hours later and bringing back the old subject. Everyone will look at you like you're a dumbass.

Well what I meant was that I searched and found the thread and didn't realize it was old as fuck.
