First of all, I hope I'm posting in the correct section.
I recently picked up a 91 S13 Silvia. This car does not come with a factory consult port.
What I have done:
1) Wired in the consult port, as per numerous write-ups.
2) Verified the consult plug had a good 12v / Ground.
3) 2X checked my COM ports (in software vs device manager)
4) tried 3 different consult programs, none worked (obviously).
My first question is:
Is the consult even compatible with the red-top Silvia ECU?
-I'd assume so, since all of the correct wires were there to completely wire in the consult port.
My second question is:
Did I wire in the correct wire for CLK?
-there are two pins on the ECU for CLK, for the description of one, it says "CLK Data Link Connector For Nissan Consult" (I used this one). The other says "Clock (Synchronization Signal) CLK".
Any help is appreciated

I switched the wires for CLK, still no connect :(

You say it's a 1991 Silvia, are you being a typical fucktard troll and calling your 240SX a Silvia because it sounds cool, or are you intelligent and saying it's an actual JDM vehicle?
If the ECU has the TX, RX, and CLK inputs on the harness it must be CONSULT ready unless the ECU has been swapped for an earlier model, though CONSULT was mandated in the US in 1991 so I'd assume Japan got it a year earlier if not the same year. I know redtops will work with it because I've wired several SRs with a CONSULT port, both in SOHC cars where the port doesn't exist and DOHC cars where the harness is there in the dash plug, so unless you have a weird ECU or some random wiring problem it should work fine.

No, it's a real Silvia. I wouldn't have posted that information if it wasn't critical.
Consult Compatible Vehicles (http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/consult_vehicles.htm)
I guess this list just shows which vehicles come with the consult port, or show "pn'p" compatibility. Because like you said, a lot of redtops are running the consult without issues.
Somehow I overlooked the sheet that came with my consult. It's an Emance consult, so maybe it's only compatible with emance's software. I'll give it a shot.
Thanks for your reply, I'd rather there be hope that I screwed up the install than not having the ability to use the consult. It looks like a great tool and I'm dying to use it.

What OS do you have on your computer. Hope it's not Vista.

I spoke with Calum over on the SR20Forums, he says I may be having issues because I spliced into the TX, RX, and CLK, and did not cut them. Because of this there may be interference.
I'll try this and report back.

Didn't think of that, but where else would they be going? There must already be a CONSULT plug in the car somewhere if they're not dead leads.

That's a good point, why would they run into the dash harness if they didn't go anywhere.
I did check for the plug again this AM, this has got to be the 5th time I crawled under the dash to check behind the drivers side kick pannel / under the dash.
