Free Carfax Report Available from 2/21/03-2/23/03.
On a side note, I run a mailing list called "Yoshi's Deals", it lists all kinds of FREE stuff such as this, as well as great deals on CES type stuff and anything else I can find. Before someone shouts that this is a commercial post, let me tell u now, I get NOTHING from running my list. It's all out of the goodness of my heart. If you're interested in being added, eMail me... i HATE seeing people get ripped off, which is why I made the list in the first place.
Those of you on the list already, know i've saved u $$$ :D
oh, and if you've never carfaxed your car, DO IT!
edit: here's an example of what a typical "Yoshi's Deals" looks like :)

OMG, I've pulled my carfax before, but it never listed everything that it does now. I guess they've upgraded their site to list reliability and service work at a dealership. Here's what it listed for 3/5/02 74713 miles:
Engine serviced
Engine system
Timing gear cover
Pulley tensioner
Timing cover gasket
Front crank seal
Rear main seal
Timing belt/chain
Water pump
Seals/gaskets
Fluids/lubricants
OMG!! It lists the warranty work I had done last year! Too bad it doesn't list my clutch and it has no record of the accident it was apparently in (repaint--I can tell in a few spots, shards of glass in the trunk, but no visible frame repair). That blew my mind!

Isn't there something you can do about that, that meaning if the dealer sells you something that is messed up without telling you.
Cuz my friend bought a mustang a while ago, and the first thing they asked the salesman was, "was it ever in any accidents?" dealer says no, then eventually they get the car.
Later on someone crashes his car and apparently hits a pole (won't get into the details), and then the parents of the kid who crashed the car pay for repairs, but then problems were still there. Then they take it to a better body shop and that body shop tells them that the car has had some serioud damage, and only damage that can happen from rolling the car over. There were so many things wrong with the car that this accident awakened. Now the dealer is going to get him a new car becuase it was there mistake.
Anyway the point I am getting at, is the dealer legally responsible, or is it just because the dealer lied to my friend saying it was never in an accident.
I'll stop rambling now.

Does anybody have a new carfax account that lists the reliability and service stuff like this new one does? I have 2 more VINs I need to check for that stuff (NBC4 won't let me do it because it logs IPs and my cable connection never changes IPs)

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Cookies and delete the file: <username>@www.carfax[1].txt
You can run as many reports as you want as long as this cookie is deleted each time.
[username] is the name you log in as (it is Administrator I believe if you do not have a logging system setup). The files may be hidden, so you will have to uncheck that option.
But notice that I said I "heard." Whatever you do is up to you and not any way my fault. ;)

Great idea!! It works!! I have Win98 & if you delete the nbc4.com & the www.carfax.com cookies, you can get unlimited carfax's. You have to use different e-mail addresses, though.

Argggghh. My car failed smog inspection 3 times! I hope that doesn't mean I'll be getting referred to a "Test Only" station for the bi-annual smog inspections... That would mean no engine swaps or upgrades of any kind.

thanks dude, that is awesome. On another note, I knew It was in a crash but I didn't know the first owner ran it into a concrete barrier. Ha Ha.
