Chassis is s14
swap is s14 sr20det
I just installed the hyper single.
I was told by Evan at Exedy USA to use the stock sr T/O bearing
My swap had less than 20k on it so I reused the smooth stock one.
Now installed, the T/O holder arm will not travel forward disengaging the clutch. I even used a huge pair of pliers to try to get some sort of budge.
Should the hydraulic pressure from the clutch system be sufficient to move the arm, thus disengaging the clutch?
Maybe a different bearing needed?
When I checked inside the car left legging it, it seemed just like mush. But I'll have some help tomorrow to help diagnose.
Any help would be appreciated.

you wont be able to move that Clutch fork very easily without Hydo pressure
you mean it feels almost stock when you push the pedal??
I have a OS Giken Twin Plate in mine and I was suprised on how easy it was to disengage it
If your sure you did everything correctly Fire it up and see what happens lol

yeah if you could that would be of great help
So I used my digi cam to see if the arm was moving and it was.
I felt pretty foolish, because I started to tear it all back apart.
So im going to fire it up tonight and see what happens.
The clutch feel isn't what I was expecting. Feels kind of like stock

Started it up tonight, and got it to go nowhere.
I cannot select any gear with the car on and running.
I can go through all the gears with the car off
System bled
Clutch pedal adjusted
Still nothing.
Any ideas?

It looks like the tranny's coming out again, something I'm not too thrilled about
But at least I have what I need.
Lok, what was your experience like with your single plate?

yeah I checked with Nissan
-B6000 is NLA
-B6064 is $17.67
Im curious as to why exedy doesn't know this stuff.
I tried researching ahead of time, even asking reputable shop sources for info.
Either way I'm going to try this again.
Thanks fellow Zilvians!

Make sure everything is back together correctly first...
None of the Exedy stuff will have a super stiff clutch pedal... as a matter of fact, most of them are designed to give you stock like pedal feel.
BTW Evan @ Exedy is an awesome guy that knows his stuff, so I would be surprised if his info is incorrect.

haha.. exedy..
i rang them here aswell for my NEW tripple plate POWER ENTERPRISE clutch ( exedy make them for PE) and they had no idea what to run.. they said the standard bearing and carrier will work
i just hung the phone up... as even my twin disc OS giken clutch required a differnt bearing and carrier

would this remain true for a blitz active single plate clutch?

I think carbonetic clutch makes the blitz clutches.
But,
The sleeve is NLA. Maybe I can get it to cross. Do I have to have it?
Also, for the guys telling me that I need these additional parts:
Can you explain to me why I need these to make it work?
Thanks

I have a Blitz active single. They use an older datsun TOB and as I recall the standard carrier. I'll try to dig through my info when I get home from work today. when I bought it though, it came with a new bearing already pressed onto a carrier, so I threw that in. I just bought another TOB for later.
Can you explain to me why I need these to make it work?

Well the reason you have such a stong clutch with greater holding capacity is becuase they use stiffer springs. How do you keep stock pedal feel while getting holding capacity with stronger springs? Its all a matter of leverage. You need the smaller diameter TOB b/c the pressure plate fingers are longer.
As far as the new carrier, idk why you'd need that.
All this is my .02. I dont' have experience on exedy products, but this is the way my blitz worked. And it appears my nismo coppermix works the same way. I won't know for sure unless I do a comparison b/w it and my blitz tob.
