I found this hood on ebay. What do ya think of it? I think it looks ok but i would probably fill the hole in on the front, and leave the vents.

I don't see the point of the front scoop or the vents on the passenger side.

The vents on the driver's side would be functional in a turbo car (especially with an aftermarket manifold) if they were shifted a couple inches more to the side, like the vents on the hood of the jspec.com yellow S13.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I think it looks cluttered.

thats the hood I wanted before I went carbon fiber. Go for it if its only 80 bucks. Only thing is, might have to have it fitted to your car.

hmm if we are talking about the hoods... sorry, but custom hoods are expensive, and if you really want more air, you can do like me and buy a scoop. bunch of fuss tho, you need to cut the hood prime it and paint it, but overall not bad. ill start next weekend, heres btw the scoop i bought, comes with great instruction, bad ass quality too.

actually, on top of my post, ill add that scoop is around 80$ with shipping, then you need all the tools, like cutters, tape etc, unless you wanna play body shop to do it.

so costs are
scoop 80$
+
paint the hood when done about 100-150$ (since painting only top of it is needed)
+
your time of about 6-10 hours, good weekend project :)

top like about 180-230$$, result - cooler engine. if it rains - oh well, close the scoop from inside.

i don't like it, but if you do, go for it. it would look 10x better painted.

That hood was made popular on vipers IIRC, then Supras and RX7s started using them, now S13s:rolleyes: . I guess on RX7s Supras and Vipers the power of the car overshadows the ugliness of the hood, and they probably have more use for the vents and scoops.
