Has anyone tried the steel of aluminum light weight driveshafts?
Is it worth the $300 to get rid of 20 pounds and go with one piece?

The stock driveshaft is like 21-22 pounds... you'd get rid of 10 lbs.

Less drivetrain loss, kinetic energy benefits, no on/off throttle problems

No. No one has tried a product that's been mass produced for nearly 10 years. No one at all.

I have a one piece aluminum on mine. To be honest I really can't tell the difference (ease of rev, throttle response). If you are itching to save every pound and have an unlimited/very large budget, then yeah, go for it, otherwise $300 can be used on a something else. The only reason I have one is that I could not for the life of me find a manual driveshaft for an S14 for less than $100, so for $150 more I got a new one under warrenty.

Shaftmasters here, they win. Worth the cents and dineros. With a race clutch, and lightweight chromoly flywheel it made the KA a rev monster haha, very very responsive, I love it :) However it's a combination of things. So...
