Well after having my S14 for a while now and redoing mostly everything on my car, I decided to start a nice project through this winter. This "build" might not be as crazy as some of those other ones on this forum, but for me its defiantly challenging and costs a lot of $$. What I am doing to my car is painting the bay, rewiring the harness, and putting a few upgrades on the motor. For those who have seen my car at a meet in the Northeast know that my engine bay looks like rats nest with a valve cover.

Here is the start, this was back in September:

Finally got the motor out:
(Kinda messed up on the hoist:duh:)

Here is sits the motor right next to the tree of wiring:

Next step: Clean the motor REALLY well...

Question: What is this rusty stuff and why is it in my coolant tubes and hoses?

Onto motor maintenance: I decided to replace the timing chain and some other things while the motor was out.

Ill get more pictures of the motor by next week when I start on that again.

Now onto the engine bay. Because my car was in CT and the autobody shop is in NY, I had to trailer the car, which was a little hairy. After a week of welding and grinding and more grinding, I am left with this so far:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/Driver11324/IMG_0487.jpg
The engine bay will paint painted within the next 2 days.

While I was taking a break from the engine bay, I decided not to shell out the $174.99 on the Nismo power brace and make my own for $6.77:coold:.

That's all for tonight, Ill keep this updated.

Looks FUN... but hey, do your self a good favor and dont run any water what so ever in your engine.. use 50/50 Premix, makes rust obsolete..

Good luck.
