so i just got my S&W 10 point drift cage and i was thinking and realized i wont be able to remove my dash once its in. how have other people dealt with this? should i bolt in the front 2 bars going from the cealing to floorboard so i can remove them and remove the dash? also (noob question) can i remove my gauge cluster by just removing the bezel thing around it? thankyou

Why wouldn't you be able to remove it? The dash goes in after the cage is installed... unless you've got some weird shit going on.

post pictures...your should build it so your dash is removable. via slots in dash.

the bars go down right in front of the dash pretty much against it so i was under the impression i wouldn't be able to remove it?

edit: and i havent installed it yet i but it is a S&W 10 point cage. the (drift) version. i thought about slotting the dash but that would look kinda funny. or bolting on the front 2 bars.

customize to fit snug but still allow you to remove your dash. they dont come pre knotched and cut to size...do they? im pretty sure you still have to fit everything.

or bolting on the front 2 bars.

get rid of it and get a bolt in cage if your going to result to this...defeats the purpose of the cage.

yeah i know. maybe i'll slot the dash or make sure everything is perfect before i do the cage. can i remove the gauge cluster without removing the dash?

Lol, yes you can. It comes out in 10 secs.

Once the cage is installed (the dash has to be off for this), make cutouts in the dash - the front bars should run pretty close to the A-pillars, so the "slots" in the dash should be minimal. You won't even notice them, except that they might go right where your HVAC vents are if you have an S14 (like mine).

just weld it in and leave the dash alone.

yeah since i can remove the cluster i dont think i'll need to mess with anything else.

i think he is saying the bars will drop down in front of the dash, and not follow the a-pillar.....

in that case make the bars go through the dash.... if its a 10 point cage its gonna be a custom job, pull the dash, follow the a-pillar with the bar and drop it down behind the dash
slot the dash and put it over the bars
