Okay so I took my friends SR valve cover off today because he wants to get the thing powder coated. Everything looks pretty good we removed the gaskets for the cover and the plugs, but the only thing I am concerned with is a small plastic clip underneath the cover attatched to a metal plate that is rivited on. The guy at the powder coating place thinks this clip may melt when he puts it in the oven. The question is do i need this clip and what is it for?

I don't have a direct answer for you, but rather a suggestion.

1. Call the place your friend is getting the valve cover PC'd at ask them.

2. Search here on Zilvia. There's a couple of people that offer powder coating services and have done plenty of SR Valve covers. Contact them to see what they say.

Good Luck!
