I was wondering if anyone knows if a fog light relay that's listed for a 1992 240sx will work for a 1995 240sx.
I can't even find anywhere in my S13 FSM a fog light reference. I always thought the USDM S13s didn't come with factory fog lights. I'm thinking the website has a typo.
It looks the same but.....you never know.

Nissan relays are color coded. As long as the color of the relay matches the color of the relay plug you are fine.

You are correct. S13s never came with foglights, at least not in the US. They may be daytime running lights for Canada.
Still. What are you trying to do with the 95 s14?

The s-13 chasis has fog light wiring and you can possibly still get the fog light switches from the dealer (I did a while ago). Fog lights WERE a factory option on US cars, just a RARE factory option.

Thanks guys. I found a 97' fog light relay that i know will work. And it's a different part number than the 92' one. So there you go.
I am just trying to hook up factory fog lights to my 95'. I have everything ready except the relay. There's really not that much to it. Just get the turn signal lever, fog lights, relay, and install it all. That should be it. Fuses, fuse links, and wiring are already in the car.
Stock looks so much better IMO.

Last time i checked (couple months ago) they still sell the foglights at $60 a peice. I agree with you Dream240, the stock foglights look much better then another foglights i've seen.

I don't dispute the OEM part. I am not sure they were a factory option on US S13s. I thought they were only available on JDM cars.
Foglight switches I assume are available if you have the right part number, like other JDM-only parts. The only foglight switches I have ever seen on US S13s came from JDM front clips.
Basically what I'm saying is being able to buy a part from the dealer is not enough to conclude that the factory offered a particular feature as a factory option.
Can you prove the existence of factory options with a sales brochure or something like that?

Well I'm assuming that it was not a factory option is the US simply because I couldn't find a shred of information on them in the US FSM.
Daytime lights....sure, in Canada. Maybe they used the same chassis wiring in the US models.

I concur.
Still, we can't prove the nonexistence of something. We can only prove that it does exist, and thereby disproving its nonexistence.
Until someone can prove the existence of factory foglights on US cars, we have to presume that this option does not exist for US cars.

Sure. A lot of people mistake DRLs for fogs so who knows.

PM me your address. I've got over forty of those relays sitting here. Seriously. I'll send you two if you want.

Factory, no. S13s in the US were never equipped with foglights from the factory, however there was a dealer installed kit offered either new with the car or over the counter for years after. It's basically a pair of 4x6 Bosch lights, much light the 89-94 Maximas or the 88-95 Pathfinders. The only difference is the S13 kit came with a premade harness and switch to plug right in, versus making the shit or stealing it from another car. Only thing is it was ugly, the lights didn't flow with the front end of the car at all.

JDM switch is different then the US switch. The JDM switch mounts where the instrument cluster illumination control switch goes, the US one mounts under the pop-up light switch where the cruise control switch goes. The connectors are also different. I fried my time control unit trying to use the JDM switch with the US connector. It WAS a nissan dealer option, read the post below. I guess I should have said "dealer option" rather than "factory", but in my book those are pretty much one and the same.

^^^Exactly! Ugly as fuck, but available. I think I saw a set on a car a long time ago, although I didn't know what they were at the time.

do you know the general area of the location of the end of the fog light wires? or at least what the harness looks like?
my 180 has the foglight switch but no fog lights, im assuming they were removed by the japanese owner who put on the aftermarket bumper that the car came with. what im unsure of though, is if my car did in fact have foglights and he cut the harness when switching bumpers (that happens a lot here) i have no idea what i should be looking for.

There's a 2pin plug by the battery, beside the starter relay. The harness plugs in there and runs down under the bumper.

Exactly, one wire is orange one is black.

A dealer-installed option is not the same as a factory-installed option, at least for Nissan. It's not so much who installs the parts. The difference is that Nissan was not smart enough to support accessories installed after the car leaves the factory.
That's why the OP cannot find any reference in the FSM.
Other cars, like Honda, have dealer-installed options (e.g. body kit, stereo, foglights, etc.) supported in the FSM.
It doesn't matter who's right or wrong or even what you call it. The bottom line is that the FSM is useless for S13 foglights so don't bother looking.

Bingo, bongo! It's strange that this is the case but at the same time, it's not like it's hard to figure out the sytem. It's one fuse, a relay, a switch, and some lights. If you were looking for the "factory" look in an S13, sounds like there's a way to do it (see above).
Me personally, I've always just bought my own fogs for my old S13s and did the wiring and mounting myself.
Thanks guys for the replies and help.
And thanks anyways Russ for the offer but I already ordered it. Cost me 6 bucks. No biggie.

Why are you nitpicking this? I'm sorry but a nissan part (or parts) sold and installed at a nissan dealer is close enough to "factory" for me to call it factory. Is is 1000000% technically correct? No, but it is close enough to not matter.
There are references to the fog lights in the FSM, look at the wiring diagrams for a s-13. The fog light wiring is in the diagrams.

Idk if it was dealer installed or factory but mine came with them and the switch that just popped in. But they are in fact very ugly they put them in the middle of the bumper. Right under where a tag bolts to. But i would think it was a dearler option because my switch was right beside the rear wiper switch and just popped right in. btw mine was the LE model. 93 hatch

We've already answered this. They were dealer installed. Done.
