If you e-mail me rather than PM me, mention that you're from this site. I'm getting a bit tired of spam, so if there's no phone number/site detail, I automatically mark it as spam.

For sale is my S14 motor that's been sitting in my garage for less than a month. I need that space to store my Xterra, and could use the extra cash. It's less than 100,000 young and needs only minimal work. It was taken out of my former coupe for an SR swap. It was running just fine and strong before I swapped it out (I only drove it for 80 miles after the swap since I had to go to Puerto Rico and decided to move). It comes with new iridium spark plugs, new 10.2mm wire set, alternator, distributor, power steering pump, new AEM intake with washable filter, new header, and down pipe (for an S13).

I also have a few more parts in the basement that need to go and will be going with the motor if wanted, minus two or three things.

Prices are as following:
1) Motor only (including the stock intake, plugs, and wire set)- $400
2) Option 1 with brand new stainless steel header and downpipe- $500
3) Option 2 with AEM intake included- $650
4)Motor with everything else- To be discussed
(Keep in mind that I paid well over $800 for this particular engine so the price is non-negotiable.)

I also have one short video available for viewing.

what do you mean by minimal work?

As far as I could tell, the timing chain needed some attention, and a good tune-up. Since I didn't drive it that much (from my mechanic buddy's house to mine, then a 10 ride around my town), I couldn't really say there was anything seriously wrong with it. The next two things that gave out were the fuel pump and the transmission, but the motor always stayed plenty strong.

I've had two different close friends of the family, both experienced mechanics look at it, and they both told me that it really didn't need much work, but since I had no money to fix the tranny, I couldn't really get anywhere with it.

I don't think you need a Myspace account in order to see it, but if it won't let you, let me know.

I was told it's just that timing chain rattle that you hear eventually, but what I mean is that it most likely just needs to be adjusted. I don't know how long it had been sitting before I bought it myself, so I wouldn't know if it had been dealt with before. That's the only video I had of it from when the car was almost road-ready (bad transmission.)

prob rod knock

sounds much like the motor when i picked up my car, ~1000 miles before it spun 2 bearings (then threw the rod), it was to faint and thought it was timing chain rattle

note: timing chains *should* outlast the engine

if you can verify that theres nothing wrong with the engine im still interested. if there is something wrong and have a decent rebuildable core, im still interested but not at that price

I'll try to get verification as soon as I can.
