wtf is this? it came from my s14 mount on the driver side fender well! im trying to see if i can remove it from my harness with no problems
my car will be a full track car, so no ac/air bags any othe bs. so if i remove it will the car still operate fine?

i believe that is a resistor for the injectors. yes you deff need that.

He has a auto chassis. That is the ballast resistor for the auto trans.

ok well my chassis is converted to 5-speed and now with a rb26 swap

so there is no need for this at all? can i remove it/ remover the harness to it and all will be fine?

Yes you can chuck it. It goes to the body harness so just zip tie the connector back to the harness.

ok thank you very much im in the process of relocating my engine harness so while i have it apart im just gonna remove it(sensor/harness) with wiring also.

how come my sr's came with them, they were never auto...?? serious question btw..not being a smart ass.

Some RB clips have a version of that, and it is an injector resistor, but it's much larger. I don't recall ever seeing one on an SR. Maybe a Pulsar, they have different impedance injectors.

The actual term for the part above is a dropping resistor, it maintains line pressure in the automatic transmission. This is the item that kids for the past 20 years unplug to get faster, firmer shifts, then later cry because they've torn apart a good transmission because of the added abuse.

i also have that thing on my SR redtop... my front clip came with it on and was manual trans... i was told it was a resistor which didn't make sense to me... what is it really a resistor or ballast resistor for the auto trans...
