for a while now ive been getting this problem that happens off and on. it happens with both left/right turn signals and the hazard lights.

basically when i turn on the signals or hazards they will flash for a few seconds and then they will just stay lit and stop blinking. if i turn them off they will go out, but if i turn them back on they will blink for a bit and then just stay on again. when they are lit you dont here the signal relays clicking anymore.

the problem didnt start happening until it started snowing here. i doubt that will make any difference, but it is pretty cold so im not sure if its messing with any relays or anything.

are there separate relays for left/right signals? and are there separate relays for signals/hazards?

my theory is that, if its only one relay for all, it may be sticking open or some weird shit like that. i just have no idea where the relay is located to check.

the car is a 92 180sx

I don't know what a "skedoot" is.

You can get replacement flasher relays at auto parts store for about $5.

Evidently a "skedoot" is roughly the equivalent of a US dime.

Thus 50 skedoots is roughly equal to $5.00.

Um, wow. This is sad. Go to any auto parts store and buy a 3prong electronic flasher. They're like $5-8. You're not required to buy an OE one unless you want to.

Or pull one from virtually any Japanese car in any salvage yard dating as far back as the mid 80s. I've thrown away at least 30 of them over the years just to have room for more high demand parts.

If you want, I'll sell you my OEM Nissan flasher relay for $25 shipped.

my bad man, didnt know it was so simplistic.

auto parts stores over here arent like auto zone or kragen or any of that other shit they have in the states. the only parts stores we have in this area order shit directly from the dealers. you cant just walk in and they have random universal shit all over the place for unbelievably cheap prices. if i can use any flasher though im just gonna snag one from the junk yard

I thought I might add. I just bought a flasher relay for my 98 240SX and it was only about $13 from Advance Auto Parts.
