I'm ready to re-paint a vehicle and want the CHEAPEST AUTOMOTIVE paint possible. I'm painting the vehicle white and don't even care if it has a clearcoat. Looking for something kinda durable and looking decent from 10 feet. Its on an off-road vehicle so perfection is NOT what i'm looking for.

My only requirements are

NO SPRAY PAINT
MUST BE SPRAYED FROM GUN...meaning, no roll on, brush on, etc.

I know a one step "do it yourself" system was recently released and carried in automotive stores but cant recall who makes it. Any other suggestions for cheap, durable paint?
Thanks in advance.

if you go to like kragen you can get the ready to spray quarts of paint. Never used them or seen a car that was sprayed with them but if your looking for cheap thats what they are i think there about 25 buks a quart. They have championship white along with cheap ready to spray primer and clear. Just a thought..

Hit up 1 day paint and body, or similar. They'll give you an enamel paint job that will look "even" and decent from 10ft, for like $300 if you want a simple color like white.

Naturally, I'd recommend you do the prep work before hand, so all they have to do is wipe it down and spray it.

Based on your criteria mentioned above, id recommend this that i found on ebay.

eBay Motors: 1 Gallon Arctic White Acrylic Enamel Automotive Paint (item 320250811378 end time Jan-05-09 15:19:37 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-Gallon-Arctic-White-Acrylic-Enamel-Automotive-Paint_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a4Q7c65Q3a15 Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQ hashZitem320250811378QQitemZ320250811378QQptZMotor sQ5fAutomotiveQ5fTools)

A single stage enamel is exactly what your looking for.

And if you are looking for supplies or even a higher quality paint, id suggest these guys:

Restoration Shop - Quality Automotive Paint (http://www.tcpglobal.com/Restorationshop/)

I used three different stages of this stuff, which you can custom order from autozone.

Primer
Base/Clear
Clear

The base included the clear, and that was the only coat required, but I wanted to more glossy look, so I bought another can of clearcoat.

Someone suggested I use this stuff on my track car. I've heard good and bad things about it, but never talked to anyone who's actually used it. Do you have any pics of a car you sprayed with it? I've heard it smells terrible, way worse than other automotive paints. Is it really that bad? How does it hold up against rock chips?

I'd give their Burgundy Metallic a try with my black primer underneath, might look good. Single-stage is durable...

Except I'm no one's guinea pig :keke:
