A bit too outrageous too be taken seriously, but it is worth a good laugh to contemplate some of the possibilities. To say that the country will 'collapse' and brake out into a civil war, and divide among racial lines as a result is terribly rash.

I will say I'm worried and uncertain about the financial situation in the US, and there is a real possibility things might get considerably worse before they improve. Having China and other powers gain dominance in world power is inevitable, but it will take time however.

Another not so pleasant factor, as its seems is that our relation with Russia apparently isn't getting better. Crazies are everywhere. However the fact that their state endorses such an extremist and questionably rational theory leads me to believe their intentions aren't in our best interests. Hopefully those intentions don't materialize further. It won't be in our best interests at a time like this especially.

I think people forget that even with this financial crisis, the U.S. is still the most powerful economy in the world.

Like, nobody else even comes close.

In 2007, the U.S. had a GDP of over 13 trillion dollars. The next closest nation is Japan at around 4.3 trillions dollars. That means the US economy is more than 3 times as big as that of Japan.

From what I've read, the current economic crisis wiped out around 2 trillion dollars worth of assets. That means the U.S.'s GDP is still hovering around 11 trillion dollars. That's as much as the next three biggest economies (Japan, Germany, China) combined.

Also, due to the fact that that today's economy is a global economy, any problems in the U.S. economy are going to have ramifications for all the other economies of the world.

So if the U.S. is going down, it'll take down all the other economies with it. :|

And that's not even speaking of the military power of the U.S.

So, yeah, I think the good Professor is a little off with his theory.
