There's no such thing as a heat sensor on an exhaust system, unless you mean an exhaust gas temperature sensor, which does not come on any US car. The unit past the converter, mid way on the downpipe is the secondary O2 sensor.

which you don't need, correct?

I recently installed Hotshot headers, I left that sensor unplugged, guessing it was emissions related, as it goes after the catalytic converter ( located in the downpipe of the stock ).

Correct. It will trip the CEL but that's it. Nothing else is affected.

Nice, guess it wasn't my EGR that tripped the CEL this time. I'm gonna have to get a cat and weld a new O2 bung to put that back.
