has anyone used this, and if so do i need a coat of clear coat. how long does this stay on the lens before it starts to wear or fade if it does at all.http://www.advancespeedshop.com/images/smoke_tls_enlarged.jpg

I believe clear coat is already mixed in, but its not that great.
If you want a super duper shiny finish, then finish it off with some extra clear coat.
It WILL fade, and it WILL look bad after some time. How soon depends on how often your car is exposed to the elements.
Have you looked into getting transparent smoke vinyl.....?

Please don't smoke your lenses
I really am not a fan of smoked tails, lights, headlights, corner lights, etc
But yeah you might want to try vinyl so its removable in case you change your mind
Or do like that Integra guy and use black pantyhose

yea heavily smoked lights look "tacky" unless your car is black.
lightly smoked looks tyte, if done properly
Smoked vinyl is tint pretty much.

It requires some work to get it to look good.
e.g. you have to sand the lights a bit, then apply light coats, then more sanding, more coats, sand, clear coat, etc.
That's how you make it look OK. haha.
