Okay, how much would it cost for either a 240SX or another car to reach these levels of whp and with what mods?
200 whp -- What amount of $, what shell, what mods, etc. i.e SR20 $500 shell, $2500 SR20DET, etc. etc. not including labor
300 whp -- ?
400 whp -- ?
500 whp -- ?
What I'm trying to figure out is what the minimum amount of money for each level of wheel horsepower (no nos, just all engine and internals) and with what mods.

Here, a little help for you before this is locked.
Look at all the different engines that can fit a 240sx.
open notepad/word, make the list.
then find out how much all these cost with mods, parts needed, fabrication and the actual engine.
find out thier HP.
Thats a good start.
Now you know what each engine gets you stock.
From their you can look at what would be easiest and cheapest to get your desired HP for desired money spent.
BTW, If your asking this, A SR20 swap is perfect for you.
Because a KA-T is more work than you want apparently and anything else is probably gonna be overly complicated for you.
We the people also dont want you to have over 180hp in a RWD car that we are asociated with :)

Follow the equation also, You cannot have all three, just 2 in most cases. Cheap/Reliable/Fast. Wtf do you want 500hp in/for?? The lack of details is overwhelming.
You wont be able to really get a definite answer really on your question either. Its ridiculously broad.
My 2c.
Spray the House down w/ whatever motor/car you want.
I saw you put no NOS, i guess ill reccomend an HSW, Zex, NX, Dynotune kit.
What is people's problem with nitrous oxide (especially mostly import car owners)? Shit is so simple and if you follow the basic rules regarding nitrous you wont have any problems.
