Just curious how possible this is and what batt and mounting hardware did you use? Aftermarket seat? etc....
I have a odyssey pc680 in reach. Anyone use that particular batt?

i have never heard of fitting a battery under the seat. give it a try and let us know.

i guess it would work with a drycell under the pass seat.
and yes the seat would probably have to be aftermarket.
but why?
when you could mount it behind the seat and have much easier access?

ya its possible but your seat would hafta be super high-mounted and it'd make it a pita if you ever hadta jump start your car.

Why relocate the battery? It is in an ideal spot where it is already.

i had my bat relocated to behind teh passanger seat on the floor to offset the weight balance of driver. Then made sure to vent it out to the outside.

Maybe I/C piping?

Maybe I/C piping?
With an oddessy battery I doubt that. Its pretty small why not just mount it under the hood?

Why? IC piping. Even though it's a little pc680, there's no room to mount it under the hood unless I bolted it to the frame or mounted it crooked (i.e. ugly).

Same reason BMW doesn't mount it behind the seat.
Now the sun is up. Out I go...

If you're going to move it, move it to the back to offset the weight of the engine/tranny like normal people do.

Normal people suck.
In order to keep the polar moment of inertia low, I rather mount it under the seat (if I can).

Since its a small battery i would just mount it sideways in the battery tray. If you are worried about how ugly a battery is you got other problems.

When you get a project in which you've spent years and thousands on, send me a pic of how you haphazardly install your battery.

lol brother shinhed, you came to the wrong place to get advice on people looking at details like that ;) Too many haters on here :) My advice, just do it. Then post pix of how you did it. I guess with a small odysey battery or brailleauto battery you may be fine enough and achieve it. I am curious.

and never being able to track your car... that wont pass tech. Stop trying to be different or cool and just do it right.

^Not trying to be "cool", trying to be efficient by lowering the car's center of gravity, reducing weight, cable resistance, and cost of buying excess cable to route battery to trunk. That said, not passing tech is a concern:bite:

Why would I need to do that when my positive distribution block is still under the hood and easily accessible:rolleyes:

what is wrong with mounting it behind the seat? that seams like the best spot for it.

Here is how I had mine installed in my Sentra... I know it's not an S13, but they have about the same amount of room under the seat (which is not enough, even with a Sparco Evo installed on sliders) and behind the seat. This way it's easy enough to access without ripping out the seat and not in the trunk getting in the way of track equipment.

no it's an amped breaker.... just like running an inline fuse without spending 12 bucks every time it pops... No fear of running it like that exposed on the carpet i take it, no chance of any tools or metal things falling back there. i know I dropped a wrench on my battery on accident and it hit the exposed negative and positive terminal at the same time.
shit was like 4th of july!

Hard to see, but there is clear cover that goes over the positive terminal. Also, there are caps that go on both ends of the breaker to protect from any shorts to ground. The setup worked just fine in the Sentra for the 2 years it was in there.
As for the 240, I left the PC680 battery under the hood since I could turn it sideways and it fit just fine... no point in relocating it if it didn't need to :).
