who here uses driving gloves while track driving driving, mainly drifting. I have noticed that almost every pro uses gloves while most amateur guys don't use anything.

most of the 240 drivers that i know only use gloves when they togue and drift because most of them have the nardi wheels and they tend to get slippy when wet :cj:

I use them to get used to them for when I have to wear them.

I would if I had a nardi, which is the main reason I never liked them, but I have a tomei wheel. I have some gloves but rarely use them. Only when its cold.
If you ever plan on getting into racing and have to wear gloves and whatnot then I suggest you get used to it. I don't think there is any big ups or downs as you can get used to both, but the best thing about gloves is consistency as your gloves never sweat (unless you sweat that much under them).

Drove my car with "driving" gloves on once.
It was cool, I felt as if I had a better grasp on the wheel - That being said, you lose a bit of feeling sometimes but you'll get used to it.
Most pro drivers wear gloves because they have to. I've seen some who still prefer to drive bare-handed.

I use Greddy mechanics gloves I got a long time ago. They are comfortable, I got an NRG wheel and, as it has been mentioned before, I feel I have a better grip on the wheel

I got the green driving gloves off Rhdjapan and they are cheap and super sweet. I had a nardi deep corn and I liked using bare hands better and now that i got my suede personal wheel I love the gloves and they are green and match my car soo i look cool.

I only use gloves to grab my metal shift knob when it's really cold out.

I'll wear the mechanix gloves i usually have lying on the back seat if i forget to put my sunshade on and my wheel and shifter are really hot, or if it's really cold.

I don't like gloves. They totally take away from the feel of the car. Much like love gloves taking away from the feel of a woman :P
Contraceptives. Do you use them?

yea, just got some leather palm batting gloves for when I drive on cold mornings/ long trips (the air vents make my fingers cold/stiff when I drive 50+miles)
Plus, I feel cool with leather palms :-D
i use my tein mechanic gloves lol. the suede padding is pretty nice lol.
My hands don't sweat much when I drive.
So, using gloves depends on the steering wheel.
Plastic Oem wheel; No gloves, no way. Too slippery.
Wood wheel: Gloves.
Smooth leather wheel: no gloves, better grip.
Suede wheel: Gloves without a doubt. My personal favorite.

i've always used driving gloves. I haf a signal gloves for the longest time and now a sparco one.
My steering is a nardi sport type a and i had a hard time at times grasping the wheel with the gloves on. But i just bought a nardi suede one to switch out now. Thanks Logan.
I have to buy new gloves now too. Oh and i only use gloves at the track. But i used to do it too when i went to AC.
I remember why i started wearing gloves too because of the jdm insider with the night walkers and all of them were driving with gloves and nardi wheels. Yup I'm a fanboy.
^^^ nice to see Yuri posting again.

I used to wear some rubber soled gloves I had from back in High School for drumming.
Now I need some new ones since my hands tend to get sweaty while driving, especially in my RX-8 with the leather steering wheel.

I'm pretty sure the Sparco X-Pro was the first reverse stitched glove and it's also FIA legal. Those Alpinestars ones are nice though. I got the Tech 1-S and prefer them over my X-Pro's by far.
Edit: first mass produced and sold glove.
