so i had water in the radiator all summer then i parked the car while i am in school and looking for a house...

the engine has almost completely water in it. there might be a tad bit of coolant

do you guys think it could have cracked the block(SR)?
assuming it isnt cracked, i want to take it to the race track for a winter race series.. if i just start the engine with frozen water in it will it be alright? should i take a torch to the radiator?

or should i try to find someone to let me put the car in their garage (heated garage) for a few days to warm it all up?

thanks,
Greg

Just to be on the safe side I would let it sit in the garage for awhile. Then maybe flush everything out and refill it with at least a 50/50 mix.

yea let it sit for a while then drain the water and add 50/50 mixed coolant to water ratio. Oh and check your freeze plugs. the frozen water in the block may have expanded and popped one out.

yea no worries it would be hard as hell to crack a block like that. a buddy of mine ran water in his sr and it froze and popped the freeze plug in the back of the motor out. It sucked cause the only way to fix it was to remove the tranny.

idk, freezing water is pretty freakin strong.
freeze plugs coming out isnt that big of a deal compared to cracking a block.
and ive had way too much experience of changing trannys on my SR haha

at least if i do need to take off the trans its durring the off season :)
