You do know that PETA has one of the largest facility's to put down animals in the US? Huge refrigerator at their main office, the morgue model.

PETA does not believe that people should have animals as pets. The only humane thing to do with all domesticated animals to to kill them all.

...wtf does that even mean? a normal life? they mean a normal life by human standards and with people...but they arent people...they are fucking dogs, so a normal life to them basically consists of walking around, eating, shitting and having sex..im pretty sure they can still do that. Im sure the dogs are traumatized...but traumatized is better than dead.
