I know im gonna get burned for this but im prepared. anyways, I have a 90 hatch and am in the middle of doing the front and rear conversion. My question is has anyone personally done it while retaining the 4 lug and keeping their stock up rights? <---rear set up!!
I have 90 2 seater tt brake cables i got for free. I was looking at both spindles and the z has an extra hole and the 240 has only 4 holes to bolt it up. Anyone have any pics of their 4 lugs or any usefull input?
please dont tell me to search i already know about the definitive swap guide page.
extra info: i have circuit sport 4 lug conversion rotors and earls lines for the caliper.

I have not done it personally, but a buddy of mine owns a shop and he is sure it can be done. Whenever I get the money together we're gonna do it, so If you get to it before we do, lemme know how it goes.

I guess you didn't bother to even look at your car before posting. The 4lug hub is identical to a 5lug save for an extra stud. There is no difference using either one, just redrill the rotor. The cables and ebrakes bolt up to either upright.

^^Agreed. Just line up one of the holes, secure a stud through it. And drill the other 3 holes after it's lined up properly. Or have a machine shop do it for you. You can also buy rotors already dilled for 5x114.3 and 4x114.3 bolt patterns too. Thats how my Q45 front brakes are setup.

actually i did look at it i mentioned that it had the extra hole in my original post. just trying to reassure that this will work and someone has done it before. maybe that bolt could be essential? it is pretty big. im not sure, maybe others who did it know.

Why would I reply having never done it? I've done 7-8 cars with Z32 rears on 4 lugs. It's EXACTLY the same procedure. Can't be any more clear than that. If you're questioning the install you haven't researched it at all, the large hole is for the kingpin, all Schassis uprights have it.

Like ProjectRDM said the hubs are identical except for the 4 stud/5 stud.

With the kingpins you have you need to put two axle nut washers between them and the backing plates like I have it in the second pic.

You have not researched. Period. This thread doesn't even need to exist.
For starters, had you said the extra hole you were talking about was on the hub, that would have helped. But we all know that some early Z32s have a flanged hub, and we've all thoroughly discussed on this forum the differences in having the flange, the different types of kingpins, and what's required if you have a mismatched set. Common sense would tell you that the only thing different in not having the flange on the hub is that you would need to space the kingpin forward the thickness of the flange, thereby eliminating a gap against the brake shoes. You could also realize that if that method confused you you could press your 4lug hub into the bearing with the flange and not use spacers period, but either way it's a matter of simply taking your foot out of your ass, opening your eyes, and seeing what you need to do, both physically and online through tons of documented pages.

The 240 spindle has that other hole in it as well and the hubs for the four and five lug are the same as said above. If you have your tools and some patience, it's a strictly bolt-off bolt-on process.

I did help you, asshole. I've answered your questions from the beginning of the thread. The problem is you never worded your actual question in a way someone could understand. Post #1 states this: "I was looking at both spindles and the z has an extra hole and the 240 has only 4 holes to bolt it up"
Nowhere did you say the hub, you said spindle. How are we to assume you meant to say hub? We can't. Simple researching would have yielded a three page thread about the very thing from a few months ago and none of this would have been necessary. Don't get mad at me because you can't do your homework.
