Well, one day I felt my clutch slipping so I think its time to start saving up and planning for a new clutch.
Honestly, I don't know what kind to get.
I would want to stick with maybe an ACT or Exedy.
Leaning more towards the latter.
I just want to keep my options open and see what else is there.
I have a KA-t with a GT28r.
I want something close to what I have now.
Which is a Sprung 6 puck from Clutchnet, which I beat the hell out of.
I was thinking about getting an Exedy Stage 2.
Anything out there similar to pedal feel and holding capabilities?
Keep in mind that I will be daily driving this car and do not want a full disk.

Exedy Stg 2 hands down.
I have one, friend has one, tons of people I know that are KA-T run them.
I've driven on mine for about a year now without any problems.
Same with everybody I know that runs them.

Check out dxd southbend clutches not too expensive kick ass service and product. They actually use exedy parts in their clutches and cheaper then them.

I've heard really good things about them also. That's what I'm going to run on kitty kat 2.

I have had problems running exedy stage 2 on a built SR running 18 PSI on a 2871R .86. It lasted me about 6 months or so with some clutch kicking but not much....
I highly highly recommend RPS MAX Street Disc.... Awesome clutch lasted me 2 years with beating the crap out of it on the track. Pedal feel is better than the Exedy stage 2.

act or clutchmasters imo.... I haven't had good experiences with exedy, I had a clutchmasters stage 3 a long time ago (disc not 3 or 6 puck) and it grabbed ass like a pervert in a booty house) exedy just crapped out on me during regular fucking daily driving, spring retainer broke off of the disc, fucked up my TODA flywheel and everything else.
Needless to say, I am not too happy at all with exedy.

I own one so I should support them.... Truth is though, i had a SPEC stage 2 and the disk literally cracked on one side, got me home but fucked my Fidanza Flywheel. I stuck it out and ordered a SPEC stage 3 thinking that my fricken NA KA was just too much for the full face:keke: (stage 3 is a puck style). The Stage 3 holds fine (had it for abt 2 yrs now and no probs, still grips well). The only other aftermarket clutch i've driven than my own was my friends race car with a unsprung clutch...no need for that on teh street though :eek3d:

The exact same thing i ran in my 240 till she blew. Clutch was awesome, never had any issues, and it wasnt too bad to drive on. Its what im using in my RX7 (same exact clutch :D)

I'd have to agree. Exedy ftw.

Southbend (DXD) is also really good too. A lot more affordable as well. We're actually authorized direct with them as well.

Spec's quality control sucks. They seem to be very hit and miss. Some people get lucky with Spec clutches, but I've heard ALOT of horror stories about them.
So, why chance it? Stick with a company you DON'T hear people complaining about. RPS, ACT, etc.
I've heard real good things about Illegal Garage clutches, too.

ACT Xtreme clutch started to slip on my KA-T GT3076R @ 17psi.
Upgraded to RB20 chromoly flywheel + 350Z ACT heavy duty (rated 530 tq)
Best clutch you can do on a KA-T.
250mm surface area vs stock 225mm.

i wish i went with an exedy stage 2. Stay away from the made in china spec, xtd, etc... garbage.
Exedy ftw honestly...
You can do what sunny said, the whitebunny special as its called.

It's the revised "white bunny" special.
The original white bunny special was D20 flywheel with Z32 NA clutch.
To get the most torque, ACT had to beef up the clamping power on their Xtreme clutch pressure plates compared to the Heavy duty which results in a stiffer pedal. I broke the welds on my clutch bracket after a year of driving with the Xtreme clutch.
To get even better clamping power with the less pedal effort, you can increase the surface area of the clutch from 225mm by 250mm (damn near 1 whole inch!) by using a 350Z clutch mated to a RB20 flywheel.
KA24DE clutch + flywheel cost
Fidanza aluminum flywheel - $330
ACT xtreme or Exedy stage 2 clutch - $370
Result - about 350 ft lbs holding torque
Revised white bunny special cost
RB20 chromoly flywheel - $300
350z ACT heavy duty - $420
Result - about 530 ft lbs holding torque
Less pedal effort, more clamping power than a KA puck clutch with great driveability. This wins hands down.
