wtf.
I had a meeting scheduled for today (wed) at 5pm...planned on driving out this AM to make it for the meeting. Saw the weather yesterday, figured the cajon pass would get shut down due to snow...
I drove out last nite, to beat road closures/snow. I figured once i got in to LV, everything would be good.
Since im here for work, I'm staying at a hilton homewood suites (Airport). No casino. No bar. No restaurant downstairs. Homewood suites are normally dope, cause not only do you get free breakfest, you get free dinner as well...WITH FREE BEER.
Today around noon, it starts snowing. Wasn't sticking to the ground, so I thought nothing of it. By the time I'm done with lunch (~2pm), the snow starts sticking...By the time I headed out to my meeting, it was snowing like crazy, and my customers called to cancel the meeting. The MGR wanted his workers to get home ASAP, before the snow/ice got too crazy.
Fine. Figure I'll turn around and go back to the hotel for the free dinner and BEER. Get back too hotel. Free dinner was there...but NO BEER. Turns out Clark County wont approve this hotel due to their size.
Now I've been in my room for the past 5 hrs. Can't drive anywhere and there's nothing within walking distance. Hotel cancelled their shuttle service. WTF.
Who'd ever think you'd be in Vegas (where there's always something to do...) SNOWED IN.
To top it all off, the salesman for the LV territory didnt even make it out here cause of road closures, and I'm (company) is paying $100 for this hotel. Just looked online. I can be staying at almost any halfway decent casino on the strip (Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Flamingo, Bally's, etc) for less than this f'in Hilton.
I think today I've posted more on Zilvia than I have in the past year.
Thanks to Alex (mav1178) for referring me to the "nostalgic s-chassis" thread...I've been thru all 13 pages.
