thing is it just threw a check engine light on. since its 1995 its OBD1.... do u have to connect a scan tool to it...or can i get the ecu to throw the codes itself? (ex:flashing lights)

95's are OBD II scan-capable. The OBD II connector is located on the passenger side of the center console. It's kinda hidden but if you've got a flashlight, you should be able to see it. I think either Kragen or Autozone can plug a scan tool into your OBD II connector & read the troublecode for you for free. If not, then you'll have to pull the front kickpanel on your passenger side & unbolt the ecu to get to the diagnostic screw you turn to get the ecu to flash you the Diagnostic Trouble Code troubling your car.

Use the SEARCH feature here on Zlivia.net to find a link to a 95 Factory Service Manual.

Anyhow, hope this helps...Good luck!!
