Ok, I have a '93 240sx running on a KA24DE. I hardly ever drive my car so it always sits and collect dust. I start it once in a while, but I haven't been on the last 4 weeks. Well today I decided to drive it since it sat for 4 weeks straight. Yesterday, I charged my batteries and today it was fully charged. I started my car, it start up fine but it rumbles a lot, like it's choking on something. Well, after I let it warmed up for a really long time. It still like that, sounding like a WRX or a cammed car (it sounded louder than normal). I thought it might be a clogged CAT so I decided to gun it on 2nd and 3rd to let all the carb build up come out. Sadly, it didn't fix the problem. I drove back home and start smelling burnt coming from the exhaust. I don't know what is the problem can anyone help? I touch the valve cover and it was super hot. Maybe my timing is off?

Cliff notes:
Car sat for a while 4 weeks --> never start it and batteries are dead
Day before today I fully charged the batteries
Start up car today, idles fine but the car SHAKES A LOT like it's choking on something
I let warmed up for 10 minutes
Drove it hoping it was fix the problem
Gunned it on 2 and 3 thinking it was the carb build up from the exhaust
Car feels a little sluggish
After smell something burnt and the value cover was hot
(I drove it for like 30 min normally before I gunned it)

I was thinking it might be a clogged Cat or my timing was off but I never touch the timing.

I hope I made sense as I am still frustrated. Thank you.

Almost certainly a bad injector. Have you not been paying attention? Shit happens like every day. Hell my injector just went bad.

defenitely a bad injector, happened to me on both my 240's. so now you have an awesome sounding slow wrx. look through the FSM, or search injector replacement, easy job, hardest part is putting in the new injector.

Damn, that doesn't sound good. Would that hurt my car, after I gunned it and drove it for 30 minutes? I only did it once. Sigh...more money into the car...Thanks a lot tho, I will look into it.

buy a used one for cheap. i got one for 10$. pull plug wires to find out what one it is and just do the one/ones that are bad

Good god, you haven't been paying attention. Do you know how to use a voltmeter? Each injector is supposed to have 12ohms of resistance. While the car is running unplug each injector untill you find the one that doesn't make the engine run worse. Then ohm test that injector. If it's bad, replace it. If it's not, check spark and compression.

check your plug wells too and make sure it's not filled with oil. cylinder wont fire with a wet plug.

Like people have stated before. Pull the plug wires, and see as to which cylinder starts to run worse. Once you find the area, trouble shoot it down to it being the injector, plug or wire.

If it is the injector you might as well do a whole tune-up since it sounds as though you havent done one in the recent past.

Yeah, thanks for all the advice. I tried doing what you guys said, but when I fired up the car again...like magic it disappeared...everything is back to normal such as smooth idle, smooth rev, and the tone of the car it back to normal...super weird! I am going to start it up again tomorrow and see what happens. Maybe it just need time to readjust itself again or something.
