Crackling noise coming from my catalytic convertor?

Does this mean its bad/going bad? I first heard it when I got out of my car today and got nervous thinking it was coming from the engine bay until I laid on the ground and heard it for about a good minute coming from the CC/Exhaust. I've never noticed this before but then again today was he first time I've driven my car in almost a year. Does it mean anything?

If you suspect it's the cat, you should be able to duplicate the sound with the engine off. The core is loose from the body and rattling around.

That's exactly what it sounded like. This was after I turned my car off.

Yeah, you should drive your car for a good 15min after sitting for a while to burn off all the shit that has accumulated in the exhaust and oil. Mostly moisture.

Mine does it, especially hard driving...sounds like the heat shields kinda pinging slightly. If some reason I gotta open the hood, when I drop it down..usually quiets down for some reason lol
