this is an s15 hood on an s13. im using the s14 hood hinges, no latch, and hoodpins. problem is that the hood is sitting too low up front and touching the rad support. maybe because of using the s14 hinges, or its the hood, or no latch...maybe all of the above :wiggle: but i have no idea how to get it up just a little higher. i looked into those stock rubber stopper things usually on the rad support (dont have them) but it looks like they wont reach the hood anyways. searched for a few hours on here, google, other forums with no success. any suggestions? need to finish this asap any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

I'm using S15 hood hinges and I had to use only 1 holes from the hinges to make the hood line up with rad support.
Here's a pictures to show you it, It's from Yoshi S13-S15 Conversion write up.

This is what I have to do with my kouki S14 hood on my S13 as well.
When bolting the hood hinges to the body, bolt the front hole of the hood hinges onto the rear hole on the body to make the hood line up.
If you're anal you can tap another hole so you can bolt up both holes of the hood hinges.

yea my hood is all bolted up already. its just that the front of it is sitting too low, thus hitting the rad support when its down all the way. any of you guys using the 1bolt method have this problem??? could it be from using just one bolt to hold the hinge to body?
keep suggestions coming want to get everything lined up before paint later this week

Are the hood pins height adjustable? maybe its as easy as raising the point where the hood sits on the pins. the latch is usually where the hood would "stop" before hitting your core support. Your pins obviously take the place of the hood latch.

Personally, I've only seen pins used in addition to the latch. The hood rests on the stock latch and the pins are just there to make sure it stays down. I'm in the process of doing this conversion myself and I haven't had a single issue with the hood hitting the core support. Here is how it has come out so far with the following parts: Seibon S15 hood, S14 hood latches, S13 core support, S13 silvia headlight brackets and origin fenders. You do have to move the hood latch further out, which just requires washers and longer bolts.

i used to have a s13 with a s15 front conversion... like everyone before me said, the hood rests on the latch, if you take it off then the hood will rest on the core support..

*Sigh*
People have offered suggestions, but it seems in your ignorance you refuse to see that a latch is needed when using an s13 core. If you don't use a latch, you may need to put spacers on your good hinges. However, doing that will cause your hood and fenders not to be flush.
Put the latch on if you want to keep using an s13 core. OR, go s15 core. Not that much modification is needed to make it work.
I'm using s15 hood hinges(which you should obtain) with an s13 core. I had your problem when I didn't have a latch. I put it back on, and problem went away.

ignorance? the section that the latch bolts on to has been removed. its not a simple bolton ordeal to put the latch back on like it probably was in your case. and i will not weld it back on. which is why i am asking for suggestions on other ways to get the front of the hood up a little. so please stop suggesting the same thing over and over again people, its not gonna happen. i've seen a grip of s13.5 conversions not using the latch with the hood lining up great, just not sure if any of those owners are on here :sadwavey: seriously no one has had this problem?

where are your hood pins at?
put rubber spacers on the pins to bring the hood up.

i think the problem may be the fact that the hinges are only held onto the chassis with one bolt. gonna see what i can do about that tommorow
if anyone has anymore suggestions on a fix lmk shoots
