Last time around I bought used coilovers for my s14. Kei Office XT-Alpha from Driftspeed. They were on an automatic s14 with 500 miles on them. Bought them for $1700 back in 2003. They are still running strong.
This time around I found my ultimate craigslist find: Kei Office XR NIB for $650. Inverted monotube, separate rideheight and preload and 16 way adjustable. Spring rates are 9/7:

Even though Kei Office is no more, you can't deny the quality of these coilovers. They absorb all kinds of bumps and road undulations like molasses and make the car feel soooo safe and easy to control. Initiating and following through drifts is very confidence inspiring and as smooth as butter. I'll rock these until they blow and either take them to a motorcycle shop to get them rebuilt or step up to some DG-5.
Anyway, I highly recommend these if you can find them new (or DG-5 if you're a baller) I see a few threads selling used Kei Office but if you can't verify how they were used by previous owners stay away due to lack of support.
Anyway, the point is that if you invest in premium coilovers your track experiences will be sooooo much better and way more fun because the experience will be at a different level. Awesome. I just fell in love with my car again!
