motor: ka24det stock internal 130k..

i noticed that when driving on the hi-way the engine temp needle goes to almost full cold, its gets very close to the "C" mark on the temp. gauge, and the needle is bouncy, and when i get off the hi way and drive local, the needle is around the half way mark, a little below..

also when i boost on the hi way the needle drops down to the "c" mark..

this is bad i know but why is it doing this?

im thinking ither air in my cooling sys, or a bad coolent temp sensor..

also on cold starts the car goes up to alittle below the "h" then drops back down to the center, but thats only on the first start up for the day..

sigh.. the problems continue

sounds like a problem with the factory coolant temp sensor. I had the same problem with my s14 where it would jump everywhere. I'd change it out to an aftermarket water temp gauge since they are more accurate. If that doesn't work try flushing out your coolant and check for leaks in the system which can also generate fluctuating temps that your experiencing (hoses, water pump etc). Hope this helps

Check your coolant level and change your thermostat if it's been over a year or two.
