I am looking at a 2 story studio with a friend, I will get in there and take pictures, but it looks like it would be tons of fun, anyone live in one?
I am a fan of very open living spaces,
Anyone have some cool pictures of some?
I will update you guys as I go along, if you know me you know I am very handy and I will turn it in to something very functional and cool (random custom one off handmade space fitting furniture, etc). Parties will be in the future.

Yeah... He's talking about a loft. Its like one giant room but you can section off different parts of it as living areas, work areas, etc.
The bathrooms are their own room though lol.
I live in one in Pasadena... Bottom floor is big and open, then upstairs on a slightly smaller platform is the "bedroom." I'll take pictures when there is less shit EVERYWHERE because I am in the middle of remodeling my bathroom.
lofts are cool... they are really cool if they are in a rundown looking warehouse but are all modern and shit inside... make the bathroom with those glass brick things... that would be cool.

Studios are shit.
Lofts are awesome.
Unfortunately, lofts are also expensive. Outrageously so in locations where it makes sense to have one.

I really would not mind living in something like that.
So the bottom floor is a studio and the top part is a loft? ..or is that different ?

All the trendy city boys live in lofts, congrats. I want one. I'd park my car on the upper floor.
lofts are cool but if your living with a roommate theirs probably not much privacy.

Depends where you live. I had a studio in Cerritos, CA for $700/month.
I might be moving to one in Fresno for $450/month.

lol a studio with a loft sounds more like a studio with vaulted ceilings and a random ass stair case thrown in.

Ya there are some near fresno state. We call that area Sin City. Maybe he knows of some of the nicer student housing.
BTW Sin City is like this little pocket of slums right next to the college. The rest of the surrounding area is actually pretty nice. I live close enough to Fresno State to hear the football/baseball games.

My biggest problem with lofts is that they usually are in buildings with other lofts, and don't have any parking.
Show me a loft somewhere in Pasadena/Burbank/Glendale/etc that comes with a garage (or at least a carport off the street to work on my cars) and I'm there.

this is the place i used to live in SF, nothing really cool, but nice location. close to downtown, and with muni it was easy to go anywhere in the city. 6th street was questionable, but some decent liquor stores and a pizza place. hell even what i assume to be a "massage parlor" close by hahaha.

i knew a guy that lived on seventh and howard that had a loft that was super nice, built in an old warehouse, 2 story, he had floor to ceiling windows with high ceilings. all the shades were automated to close at a certain time which was cool. wood floors, cement walls, dude even had a pretty good sized tree in his place which i have no idea how he got it in there.

Lofts remind me a lot of movies where the dude has one and it's in some run-down looking building, but when you get in, there's
like a shitload of cool stuff inside, like a damn artillery room and all these secret rooms. LOL

Its totally plain and old on the outside, is why I want to make it super pimp on the inside. Re-finish the hardwood floors, major update in lighting etc. De-LUX Pad. :bigok:

LOL yet, hahahhaha. Seriously though most lofts in San Francisco or Los Angeles? Wind up in Neighborhoods that you either can't walk the streets at night, or its now become hip and prices have skyrocketed.
There are some really dope places in downtown LA MelloSOS used to live in one before he moved out to Vegas.
Though fact is if its a Loft in the LA area its going to be in a neighborhood that does not have much in walking distance or is a no mans land at nighttime.
A case of driving in and driving out.
Thats cool for awhile but gets old. In San Francisco the days of cool affordable lofts are gone. That was back in the 90's.
Now its all yuppified with a bunch of Yuppi's trying to act and look cool i.e. posing.
Oh and to busteds13 congrats on getting the house man but yeah its cheap because your in the middle of the plains. I.E. flat and boring.
