View Full Version : DMAX position lamps - posi rep

With 180sx kouki front bumpers, some people make realize that they hate the stock winkers. I know I did. I sold them as fast as possible. The problem was, this leaves you with no turn signals. What to do.....

So, I was talking to DMAX and they said, HEY MAN, We have these position lamps that have TWO holes in them, one for the position lamp and one for the winker.

COOL.

I got a set immediatly in case they would sell out at the drop of a hat.

Wiring them up is pretty easy. The position light goes right in. No questions asked. They come with winker LEDs already. Very nice. Wiring too, so you can splice in all nice and a cheap price. ok? good.

So, you wire up the winker to your winker light wires and BOOM.
Two in one. The position lamp has now become a winker light and position light.

i suggest these if you have a kouki 180sx bumper. I approve and highly recommend them.

Props, posi rep, etc. "big ups"

Anyone try that?

idk, im kinda partial to the oem front signals, maybe its just on darker cars. but these would look better on lighter cars i suppose.

I like the idea but I don't care for the 'disco ball' look everyone is leaning towards. An OE lens would look 100x better IMO.

i just use OEM ones and wired them up to be blinkers, i dont really think i need front reverse lights, my rear ones dont even work :keke:

sub-par turn signal performance? no thanks.

here are some samples compared to stock, just in case you guys are wondering:
ClearCorners.Com [ W5W LED Bulb Shootout ] (http://clearcorners.com/products/006/index01.shtml)

if you need a turn signal, buy a turn signal. dont buy a parking light with two wedge-bulbs, the performance will never compare. its bad enough the w5w cannot compete with an 1156/1157, but those LED W5W bulbs are only good for christmas ornaments

ps: where are the rubber seals for the bulb sockets? i dont see any.

Brian is correct, I got the same problem with the Nissan position lamps. The OEM one is so hard to fit into the after market bumper (As far I had in pass, URAS and BN). I still have the OEM one because I already cut and bondo to make it better, but still it fit SUCK and it does not come with LED. Plan to get the D-max one ASAP but Brian which D-max you got? because I know they have 2 different one right.. correct me if I got mix up..

i have a question. as a vendor, how do you promote a product that is inferior in quality, illegal, and unsafe to use? and as consumers, how do you guys support buying this stuff?

http://www.clearcorners.com/temp/junk1.jpg
this is not a lighting pattern.

http://www.clearcorners.com/temp/junk2.jpg
and this in NO WAY is acceptable.

http://clearcorners.com/products/002/H4_OE_1.jpg
Not sure if you guys are just not educated in lighting or dont care, but people.. look at the above photo and study it, this is what a good, quality, halogen low beam (dipped beam) should look like.

http://clearcorners.com/products/002/H4_OE_2.jpg
and this is what a good quality high beam pattern should look like.

its beyond me how people complain about not being able to see at night. its even worse that vendors sell illegal junk when they could at the very minimum, sell Hella/Bosch H4 setups and still make a good buck. theres no reason to sell inferior products that are a liability for the business and the consumer.

If you're using LED bulbs that's why.

You need this if you want LED bulbs to flash normally.

Yeah, when I was shopping for position lamps it was either

A. OEM Nissan, which was what I wanted but not in stock
B. "Origin," which was in stock but same as these just without the wire/bulb things

I had no choice, I needed position lamps

Sometimes gotta do what you gotta do

I ended up taking my rear sidemarker bulb/harnesses and cutting that to fit in the position lamps and wired it up to blink off the stock harness

Running without lamps on the bumper is a no no, it's like walking around naked

Searched the internet and could not find a distributor or any info on these other than this post....I just realized I paid way to much for my Orgin position lights and they did not come with anything other than the light, no bulbs, mounting, or harness(Enjuku for $150).
