i am currently in the market for a 91-93 240sx. as i start to look at some possible cars, is there any things that i should look for specific to the 240?

again its a newb question, but really appreciate the help. I am just looking to pick up a reliable DD for now and see what happens from there.

reasonable mileage? i.e. anything under 160-170k because you have to remember these are old cars and just because it says 160-170k does not mean its high mileage. Do the math it will shock you.
A 91 with an average of 10k mileage a year would have 170k on it as of 2008.
Straight chassis. decently maintained. better to buy faded paint than a poor repaint of course if its repainted and the paint is nice? Thats still good to.
Carfax or equivalent to verify stuff. Records is always better. As is less owners. Though again remember these are old cars. multiple owners is more the norm and less records as well. The gems are the 1-2 owners with possible records and super straight chassis.
If a car is already built for drifting be careful. A lot of so called drift cars are pretty junky, not all but be wary. If a seller is advertising it as drift ready beware. Prefer to buy the cars that have not been drifted or advertised that way. Usually I will put the fact that the car I am selling has never been drifted.
Shameless plug here. If you want a 90 Se no sunroof car with low mileage I have one with 123k on it. Women I picked it up from was the original owner. Its already smogged(which is something else you should look for a car where the smog is done). Fresh clutch (daiken exedy) S14 seats, Tokico blue shocks with tein s tech springs. energy suspension tc rod bushings, spl trans mount, sub frame spacers. $2500

You want a reliable daily driver and are looking at nearly 20 year old cars?

Logic + you = fail.

Not downing the idea, I daily a '92 LS400. But I also know I've got a laundry list of things it needs within the upcoming months. A newer car wouldn't need that much attention, and would save a ton of money. I think as a daily you'd also want something a little nicer since you're stuck in it most of the time. A 240SX new off the lot in showroom condition was a great daily car, a beat ass 20yr old one that needs $2000 worth of new suspension/brakes/tires and then rattles/creaks like a battleship isn't.
