getting a 1.75 rod/stroke ratio

how much of a bore would give the KA24DE a 1.75 R/S ratio...it already has 1.72...can anyone help

Gee.. why don't you do more math? You've already done more than most people here.
Just bear in mind... a KA motor can't be bored over .050", and if you're boosting, many say that .040" is all you should do.

yea ur right, it doesnt make sense to spend your time or money on this. 1.72 is really good, and you really wont see much of an improvement from this. You would need some new rods, and a crankshaft... personally i think it would be much better to spend ur money on something else.

Actually, you could also get custom rods and pistons with a different piston pin height, as opposed to rods and crank... or crank and pistons I suppose, but doing custom crank is likely more $$ than the rest.

A rather useful reference can be found here (http://home.att.net/~jason510/Motorspecs.htm). Of course, I have no idea how accurate all the info is, but if nothing else, it should highlight the fact that you can probably put together a hacked up frankenstein combo of OE parts (or aftermarket, OE spec) to achieve various rod ratios, etc.

edit: but it rather pointless to go for such a slight change unless you're rebuilding the motor and replacing everything anyways.

the nismo/nissan-motorsports (i really don't give a f*** which it is, so don't bother correcting me, it's all nissan) catalog at courtesyparts.com has longer rods for the KA that land the rod:stroke right at 1.75:1- you need the right pistons from JE to relocate the pin higher for the extra room needed.

i was really interested in destroking the KA until i found out about those.
