You realize a car that is basically scraping the ground sucks for track use? It may look good but say bye bye to handling.

i know this but the coilovers are adjustable meaning for the weekend at the track and when she needs to get on the trailer i can raise the car up a bit you know ... for better handling

i want to be able to slam it for photos and shows

Umm...you gonna have an alignment machine with you when you raise the car for "better handling"?!?! :duh:

You fuck around with the ride height, you fuck around with the aligment...so that may not be something you wanna do on a regular basis cuz your alignment will be off every single time you mess around with it...:duh:

:rofl:Is there even a 40 way ajustable? haha... You should really just get good track hieght coilovers so that you have good handling and then at shows lower it. Don't go spend money on shit that is going to mess with your peformance. Also, your wheels won't bend that much when you drop it so most people won't even notice. Just throwin' my two cents in...

Alot of shock adjusters don't click when you turn them, so you could really divide the adjustment up as small as you want. The number of adjustments doesn't really affect the adjustment range anyway.

I agree that you dont NEED 40 way adjustable.... but then again, you dont need a turbo engine, nor do you need to be low with flush ass fitment in the first place. But it's nice. lol

:rofl:Is there even a 40 way ajustable?

yes there are.

haha... You should really just get good track hieght coilovers so that you have good handling and then at shows lower it. Don't go spend money on shit that is going to mess with your peformance.

There are ways to properly adjust suspension so you can be low and handle great. go to shows and lower it? are we in fast and furious?

Also, your wheels won't bend that much when you drop it so most people won't even notice. Just throwin' my two cents in...

what the f*ck does that even mean? I'm sure youre talking about the amount of camber, but jesus christ you need to learn some more automotive vocabulary words.

By that I mean you can't tell the difference from maybe max stiff and max soft. so really its just 2 way adjustable with 38 clicks in between. and wider stance does make a difference... but with your logic you dont NEED a car or the internet anyways... but if you WANT quality coilovers that go low Powered By Max is what i recommend.

I mean, you can tell a difference between max stiff and soft. Kind of like wiper speed. you have low, med, and high. then you have the adjustment knob to get it juuuuuuust right.

anyway... quality and lowness. PBM def. Just thought I'd give another opinion.

Just shut up all you guys getting butt hurt defending your friend's coilovers or whatever.

All that adjustability is just window dressing to sell a product.

Megans have 32 way adjustability or some crap, but you can't even tell the difference between 8 and 10.

If you want coilovers Stance for S chassis were specially built to go low.

Pretty much any coilover can go low, you just gotta know what to do during installation.

If you gotta ask what kind of coilovers you should get you need to do more research.

Everyone in here is going to have a skewed opinion based on what they own/owned.

I've had Tein SS- KTS- KBee- Tein Super Drift

In that order and I consider the last set the best set of coilovers I've ever owned.

I put my stances down as low as they would go last night and I couldn't even sit the car all the way down, the wheels were hitting the top of the inner fenders, the body kit was hitting the ground up front, and the rear housing was on the ground, I just about couldn't get it back up to lift it.

But back "Off" topic, you need to worry about wearing your axle joints changing the ride height that often.

Airbags. :)

if all you're concerned with is slamming it for photo shoots, airbags wouldn't be a bad idea. but if you actually want to track your car or enjoy its handling then just get a good set of coilovers and an origin kit, you won't even have to slam it for it to be on the ground, the origin kit looks low as is.

I gotta go with PBM coils. Every dumped SD car is on them. They have like, the best price ever and I am told they are super durable.

And yeah. My Silkroads had 8-way adjustments. And it was fucking NICE. You could actually feel what the difference was.

But I couldn't brag to all my JDM friends that had 64-way adjustable Megans :cj:

Not the cheapest but I got Tein Super Drifts on my S14, Its slammed but I can still go alot lower on my coilover.

2 Finger clearance on the frame rails. Thats how you roll. Still can't compare to whoever it was that couldn't run over a quarter.

Does that put the price up there with Tein Flex/Super Drifts?

If so, still not worth it.

My KTS were cool as like, a learning set, or a first set of coilovers, but I would NEVER buy them again, when they got old, they sucked.

yeah... you're looking at around ~$1300 for the shorter dampers and springs.

More detail on why you wouldn't go back to KTS's? Like.. on the "sucking" part... leaky dampers or something?

Naw I just had them for a while.

They were a good entry level coilover at the time, but people barely run them anymore because there are much better options out there for an entry level coil.

I would recommend Stance (GREAT prices for some used ones out there)

or

PBM (good customer service, and constant development on their products)

Tein Flexes can go super low. Here is the front maxed with all the collars still in place. Take them out and you got about another 1.5-2 inches left. I was tired of adjusting the coils, so I only maxed the fronts and not the rears. The rears could still go lower though. I'd hit reflectors on the freeway when changing lanes and my oilpan actually hit one of the bigger reflectors on the streets. Scary shit, lol.

DON"T BUY K-SPORTS

I had some and hated them they were too bouncy and they were not designed very well. Like you couldn't keep the ajustment knobs in them and close the hood...WTF? ANd they just didn't feel right. Like the shocks were not valved right or something. They only have (I think) 7 and 9k springs but they felt as stiff as my friends megan track coilovers. Maybe I just got a bad pair bit thats my 2 cents.

O and they don't go low at all.

Yeah I gotta modify the front wells a bit so I can go lower. Rears I gotta raise like an inch, then get it setup so it can go back down again. I'm not even close to maxing them out and my ass is on the ground. The fronts got like 1 1/2 inches to ground and about still 2" left on the coils.

I would say the stance coils for you MDbizman are probably the right choice. A friend of mine wanted the same thing, superior handling and adjustable coils with a decent ride quality. He went with Stance. I assume the pro's but I'm not sure. All I know is he was ecstatic about driving his 240 after he installed, and got bit by the suspension mod bug ;) ended up installing aftermarket arms etc!
Moral of the story, they were what he was looking for and I assume you are looking for the same mayne.
