how about a track day that involves all the events that we could fit in

acceleration, braking, short track or auto x
, road course, car show(voted on by everyone), dyno
and whatever else sounds like a good idea grandma test is stupid

ultimate 240 challenge
only rules are street cars only (we can define that later)and must keep the same components on the car for all events(like no switching from drag slicks to r compounds etc)

as many people can compete as long as they have the 240 and the money to compete
spread it out over 2 days

or maybe make it ultimate nissan challenge
cash prizes(maybe)
bragging rights
im sure we could get atleast one of the import mags involved

would anyone be interested in this?
just an idea not really all that original but still interesting

Depending on location, I might be interested. My faded-to-pink hood would be a sure victory at the show competition!

All depends on location.

But seriously, An event like that will take ALOT of organization, money, and time. But if you have the means to pull it off then sweet.

I had a long post up but figured I'd spare you all...

This sounds like a hyperfest to me, cept just 240's, meaning no other cars could show up, making the cost 100x more expensive.

Things to think about: insurance, cones, timing equipment for the auto-x, and track rental for drag.
Unless you got a mag or other corporate sponsor to pay a lot of $$ and do the marketing, you'll only get 20-30 240's out there at best, and it'll cost hundreds of dollars.

Thats why you make a comp on a poor mans budget, bring your own stopwatch, each person bring 5 cones, bring your A game :D

that would be pretty cool to do. I know the talon/eclipse/laser people do a DSM Shootout every year in Ohio and have drag racing all weekend. It sometimes gets a little recognition in tuner mags but not much. It's great to have a day where you can go look at one kind of car, meet the people you talk to on the net, learn about cars, and have fun.

I'd be down for it but we would have to do it sometime in the summer, so most of us don't have school and we would have to plan this way in advanced. But i would really like to be involved in this sounds great.

well there's the national convention in Atlanta this August so maybe that will work. LOL

I know one day will be at Road Atlanta, :)

Damn, you beat me too it. I was going to suggest convention as well. Otherwise I doubt you will get enough national support. Better off staying regional. On that note, I invite all you midwesterners to join Travis and myself at the Midwestern Council events. Tracks run include:
Blackhawk Farms on the IL/WI border
Road America
Gratten (sp?)
Gingerman

well somewhat related (not really)

The First rallyCross at beaverun.com will be Sunday March 16th at 9am. This will be a "for fun" event, and also decisions/discussions will be made on the following:

Dates
Classes
Rules
Regualtions..

if you have a car that has anything other than rwd come compete
