as ive been hunting down this clunking sound from the rear cabin. ive replaced most of the potential worn down parts of my car.
replaced bushings from traction and toe rods
replaced stock suspension to coils.
installed bushing inserts on es subframes bushing
my current 180sx vlsd didnt need bushing for installation.
as im using a single piece driveshaft. i was rotating it gently and i can say when i turn it has play between the output shaft of the vlsd. so i unbolted the and i turned the driveshaft one more time. it felt like it has a play on it like 3-7mm. im not sure if thats a normal play for it. i already search it found nothing. then as for the vlsd same thing i tried to rotate the output shaft with my hand and it has 3-5mm as well. then i have an extra vlsd laying around with minimal play on it. i would say around 1-3mm.
ive seen a lot of threads regarding to this clunking on our cabin from time to time and seems like no one can really pin point what would be the problem besides doing an elimination process.
if we anyone can contribute pls keep posting up. so we can help out each other to solve this clunking problem.
