i'm thinking about getting my own paint booth and putting it in my back yard. I still gotta talk to the city about and all the epa crap on restrictions so i dont get into fight with the city. Now before i go and buy it. I wondering if anyone would interested low fairly cost paint jobs or barters? mainly i will be doing small things but full cars if i can. I'm mostly want it to paint my car, a couple of other cars and as a garage since my house is the like the only house on the block iwth no garage. IF ppl are interested then i might be more motivated to buy it. If not then i might just keep renting out paint booths. I would be cool in take parts for trades also. I'm in the norcal area so sorry socal guys. WIsh i could help.

are you talking about a professional paint booth? those cost anywhere from 8k-15k+
painting is really strict, especially in california. usually you have to be licensed and in an area zoned for it. i'm sure your neighbors will not like you and complain if they smell the fumes. they might even call the city and get an inspector to come to your house.

its an old used binks cross draft. some guy is selling one for 750 complete. All i will need is new filters for safety. LIke i said i have to go talk to the city on what i have to do and how to get it inspected and recording everything that i spray. My neighbors wont mind as long as no fumes are coming out. I would like a sweet ass true down draft with a infra red curing system and paint mixing room but i aint forking over 15-20k for one unless i'm going into production work. Up where i live its not as strict as in areas like sf or socal. We dont have to cross over to water borne paint till another 2 years.

I can prob find you business locally if you set up your own paint area. If you can post pics of any work you did that would be helpful. Would be nice to have a body work person to go to for norcal zilvia people. Id give you business when I need it.

sweet thanks. Sadly i never take before pics but i do have pics and refferals so that can work. Some ppl in the area might have seen bright ass yellow electric car i just finished. I have 2 cars lined up but renting a booth just sucks. Only thing is i wont have the luxery of baking or controlling the temp but i'm doing production so i should be able to get away with a basic shop heater for the booth set at 75-85 degree's( thats my favorite temp). Yeah everyone seems to need a paint guy with hook ups here in norcal. Socal has there guys. I still gotta talk to the city this monday. Ill get it if the booth, fee's, new parts will pay them selves. It be nice to meet the local 240sx guys since i dont know anyone and ppl who i know suck/retards.

its a 4 door zenn-zap car. The dealer is in davis but there is one in chico. Its not the same as a smart car. I think they go faster and last longer.

its kinda hard to say because i can help save ppl alot of money on their cars. Basically here it is.. not complete but basic.
basic 2 stage paint job with prep-700 plus you buy paint/clear and materials. all i ask is for u to pay for the paint and some prepping for materials.
180 for color sanding + materials
single stage paint job 400 with prep- you buy paint plus materials
2 stage paint and u prep-350- plus you buy paint and materials
single stage paint with u prep=230 plus paint and materials
this all doesn't include jambs, under hoods etc or disassembly of parts
this is extra and optional
door jambs, under hood, under trunk and jambs + whatever more materials needed for u too buy.
120 for door jambs
80 for under hood
50 for under trunk
now for the body work.... i can do both metal.fiber glass work depending on my time and the damage.
please dont give me a car thats been hit head on or side swiped. I dont have a frame rack or hydro pullers to do it. Please no bumpers or body parts in 10 parts that makes it into a puzzle lol. Unless u wanna pay for it.
prices on body work
20 a ding no bigger than a golf size
50 for anything bigger
70-160.00 for streaks and multiple damage
basic fiber glass repair can be from 35-150.00.
i can do just bumpers, side skirts, re bumpers, aero for u.
80 plus mateials for side squirts(sp) including prep for each side
125 plus materials for front or rear bumper including prep
150 to clear ur cf hood(this is including materials) on this you must bring it to me before the gel coat is eaten away or i have to re gel it. I dont want to but i can do it for extra.
i can do 3 stage paint job but u will be looking into over 1000 in just for the paint.
My paint company is use nason/dupont/hot hues line so i can give a consistent price on the paint.
if u wanna do a complete color change then talk to me about it. Theres alot more work and materials needed to do it. If u like to also do the engine bay then you will need to remove the engine and all parts you dont want me to paint over and you must try to atleast clean it up and remove all oils and greese or i will charge to clean it up myself. unless you want your paint not to stick and fall off in a couple of months then i would recommend u do it.
If you dont like my prices let me know. Talk to me guys. I like helping ppl out. Ill take trades also. Like parts and goods. No cars lol i dont need any projects. I still am not sure if i'm gonna go through this. I have to talk to the city and find a compressor big enough. Just let me know what u think.
