Then Rhombus dropped the 600+ bomb, and the higher HP w/ stock bottom end war ended after that.

I remember that Ken, back when I was still doing local street tire drag competitions and it was still semi-popular.

I think they were making like, 540 something, and Enthalpy topped them out at like 560 something.

Ahh.. back when I actually drove the cars and didnt have people drive them for me.

The motor made 563 if I recall. It was a stock bottom end, never pulled the pistons or rings out. It was how it was when I got it from Japan. It had a metal head gasket, cams, and valve springs. Thats it! Oh yea.. and the turbo setup :o)

Surprisingly enough, that motor held togetehr in that form for a very long time. We actually used it in that same form as a back up drift car motor. We use to call it "Unbreakable". We etched into the block so we knew which it was.

Yea, that car was turned into a drift car for our first year out when we were on Kumho Tires. It debuted the Kumho Red smoke Tires. The last even of 05 I think it was totaled into the wall in Irwindale. We had to get all the way back to FL from CA, Put it on the frame machine, and get it ready to get back to SEMA for the KUMO booth 2 weeks later. We were going to try to use it the following year, but if you stood in the car and looked out the front you could see a big curve to the left!! eheheheheh

That car was my original 240sx. So instead of junking it, it sat in storage for 2 years and then we pulled it out because i had the bright idea of making it a street car for me again.. yea.... that wasnt going to happen.. ahahah

Is that the one you guys brought to Elkhart Lake (Road America)in WI for the ClubFr Drift Day? I was at that event. So awesome.

Remember looking through SS, SCC, Turbo, etc and not seeing ANY 240's in ads or features? It was ALL Civics and Integras. Hell even Preludes got more exposure. 2nd Gen Eclipses were a big deal back then too. Oh and MKIV Supra's making 1000hp.

Ah, yes the good ol days.

When we had them they were specially designed for us. However to make them FD legal they had to be available to the public. So Kumho required us to sell them for 2K a piece. Of course no one ever bought them at that price. I actually have 1 still left for nostalgic purposes! I even have a set of blue and yellow that no one ever saw. They only made a few for us to test with. These were all the KUMHO MX tires. I think they may have done a small production run of the ECSTA SPT in red.

I will see if I can find any pics of the yellow and blue ones.

I think when that old video was done it was running high 11's like 11.9 or 11.8. I think it was making mid 400hp at that point and I was learning to drive it with the slicks and skinnies!!

Also, I'm trying to find pics online of a super old modified mag photo shoot of kens S13.5 "street car". Gram Lights, Charge speed aero, Masa fenders, kouki tails, and a basic SR swap. That car gave me a lot of inspiration. :)

damm 40k :bowdown: i remember sitting on my computer switching between enjuku and heavy throttle when they had they're old sites... and making a list of what i wanted and i remember it being a bunch of useless stuff, bad combinations and stuff... and i never got anywhere close to 20k!!! AND IT WAS A BIIGGGGG LIST!! HAHAHAHA

was this the chassis you guys tore apart and sent it off on a tow truck in some pictures a few years back? where did you sent it?

try and get it back and just put it into what it used to look during its drag days or early drift days... would be nice to have a memory in the shop...

Yea, this was the chassis that we lifted onto a trailer and towed off. It was wrecked pretty bad at irwindale back in 05. We put it back together for SEMA, but she was never the same. Even after being on the frame machine she had a curve "down and to the left"... hehehe

I put it in storage for 2 years and then was going to do just that and make it a shop street car again... but she was just not in good enough shape to do it. Letting her go was a very hard day for me. It was my original 240sx that saw just about everything we did!
