<br>The day after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday for its reputation as the best time for early Christmas shoppers to find deals. If you're one of those people, you're no doubt trying to think of what to buy your spouse or friend who has everything. If that person truly does have everything, that means there's a Nissan GT-R sitting in their garage, and the only thing missing is a Limited Edition Nissan GT-R Toolbox from Snap-On. While we don't yet know the price of this collector's storage box, we do know that it will be made available only to GT-R owners and sold exclusively through certified GT-R dealerships. Only 635 are available, and each comes with Nissan GT-R graphics and a custom-etched name plate in addition to all the standard Snap-On goodness one gets with these stainless steel toolboxes. Check out the gallery below for the official flyer that includes specs and features.<br><br><div><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/snap-on-limited-edition-nissan-gt-r-toolbox/">Snap-On Limited Edition Nissan GT-R Toolbox</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/snap-on-limited-edition-nissan-gt-r-toolbox/1185669/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/snap_on-nissan-gt_r-toolbox-image_opt_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title=""></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/snap-on-limited-edition-nissan-gt-r-toolbox/1185668/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/gtrtoolbox_opt2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title=""></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/snap-on-limited-edition-nissan-gt-r-toolbox/1185670/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/11/gtrtoolbox_opt_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title=""></a></div><br>[Source: Nissan]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/25/snap-on-introduces-limited-edition-nissan-gt-r-toolbox/">Snap-On introduces Limited Edition Nissan GT-R Toolbox</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblog</a> on Tue, 25 Nov 2008 11:30:00 EST. That is the dumbest thing I have ever seen.

If you worked as a tech and rolled in with that shit you would get made fun of all day.

I couldn't agree more. It would be a story told for decades at the shop.

lol. Pay 2 grand on a Snapon Tool box, then tack on another grand for the GTR *picture*.

Snap on makes some fantastic tools, dont get me wrong... But I'm happy with my Craftsman tool box and stanely tools.

Is that a prerequisite for buying that gay ass box?

That makes it even worse now.

That's one of those things that's cool for like a day... then you regret spending all that money on it.

Now if your snap on box came with a GTR, that'd be cool.

It probably costs as much as a GTR.

I heard that if you roll it to fast you void its warranty...

You should get thes with your GTR. Makes more sense, like thos guys that have snap-on ones with a picture of a Corvette, awsome car. But dude that cost more then the Prizm you drove to work lol hardcore

yeah if any tech showed up with that he'd be the laughing stock for sure.

although this tool box seems totally pointless ANYWAY.

nissan does express they do not want anyone modifying the gt-r in anyway. and i'm sure they don't want diy-ers to tinker with it either.

...so why make a tool box available to gt-r owners?

OH WAIT

its totally the same as having a launch control

...and then telling people not to use it.

Stupid. Maybe if it just had the GTR logo on the front, then maybe a big maybe. Plain black please.

This is just for the GTR owners who have cool garages and want something to go with their car. I know my boss has a GTR and like 4 or 5 other cars in that caliber (Porshe, Viper, 'vette, M3 and some other stuff) and this kind of thing would be right up his alley

So...

What's the point of this?

I mean you can't work on your own GT-R without voiding the warranty.

So why have tools?

Or are they just as useless as the car?

Like, "opening this tool box voids manufacturers warranty." Or some shit like that.

god damn haters.... it's all about useless shit... this is a collectors peice, not something actual mechanics who will actually use it would buy... it's like the special edition with all gold snap on tools... people who have more money than they know what to do with like to buy shit like this...

Maybe there's a device embedded in the tool box that lets Nissan know if you opened the tool box and thus voids your warranty.

Don't do it.

11-27-2008, 04:37 PM
Not to mention the price tag is way up there. How about a snappon black Friday 75% off sale

Besides how many zilvians can afford a gtr, yet alone a snap on tool box?

Now all they need is a snapon toolbox with something else on it...

1987 Dodge Aries Wagon Snapon Toolbox. Hells yeah.

I may never own a snap-on tool box, but I do own a box of strap-ons.

The overall effect of the price of snap-on anything and a box of strap-ons is the same.

You get fucked in the ass.

It probably costs over $5K, and yes, being an ex-tech I can say that you would get made fun of, if not alone for spending what Snap-On wants for that monstrocity. Snap On is a rip off when it comes to the boxes. I paid $3K for one a few year ago. You can get a Kobalt box at Lowes that is almost as nice for a fraction. Its just the name you're paying for.

Yeah my craftsman box i got for 600 bucks is way better, i can put a gtr sticker on it and sell if for like 50k now eh??

skylinegtr20
12-30-2008, 10:53 PM
I have that box in Orange... but without the GTR shit. And Snap-On or Mac Tools isn't just about the name... you can tell the quality difference in practically every tool they make.

No tech would purchase that box or the stupid snowmobile ones and muscle car ones.

that shit looks like a toy tool box you would see at toys r us or something
