okay i just got a 5" sport-comp monster tach. it has the small little shift light already built in to the face of it. but its so small and looks like crap. its about the size of the tip of a pin. i have one of those big shift lights that strap onto the mounting bracket and i want to hook it up. but i have no clue since it already has that little one in it i dont know how to hook up the big one. what wires should i tap it into? or something like that. if anyone could help out a little that would be great. and just so everyone knows i didnt pay for this i got it for free like everything else i get so dont flame me for getting the wrong shit.

So if someone gave you herpes for free, it'd be cool?

Free stuff isn't always good. You already have a tachometer in your car, and if you've driven it long enough you know the shift points by sound alone. Putting a big jank ass tach on the dash because it's cool is fucking retarded. Sell it for beer money. Or save it for decent parts.

haha. first im 16, i cant buy beer. second its my car ill put what i want in it. i asked for help, not for you to just be negative. i just want it in my car. i see no harm in it just because you obviously dont like them. now if you have any kind of information that could help me get it hooked up that would be great. but i feel theres no reason to flame someone asking you for help. thats a dick move buddy.

I'm hardly older than you so I can flame you :trogdor:
5 inch tachs go along with people who buy civics, put a $50 walmart muffler and aluminum wing on the back, and spray paint there vents on the inside to match the outside. Your factory tach works great, if it doesnt go by ear. Just my 25 cents, your right its your car and you can do what you want with it, but your asking a lot of biased guys to answer a question about rice.:blah: :blah: :blah:

lol well yea you are right about the civic thing. but i am putting an rb20 in my 240 and ive heard you have to recalibrate the stock tach for a 6cyl. so i figure why not put the big free thing i have in it. and by the way i will be drag racing 98% of the time because there isnt a drift track around my area for about 2hrs. but theres a drag strip every mile almost.

Willow Springs is 3hr trip for my fellow san diegans, find a better excuse. Or if your totally serious about drag racing biz then go right on ahead don't ask us.

Are there any other plans in there, or are you the typical 16yr old punk who just bought the shittiest chassis ever with enough body damage to make it look like an ocean wave and plan to throw a beat, corroded 250hp engine with 200k miles on it into the car without touching anything else?

Then by all means, install your big, shitty looking tach. Then stuff said shit ass car into a wall.

Haha man I feel sorry for you I agree we should not bring all of this drama into here when it was a thread you started so sorry, you could prbly find out how to do it on the internet but I agree asking someone specific is something I would rather do that way I can get an exact answer, I get a little tired of everyones response to every question being SEARCH!!!, are the answers out there? Yes, but it may take you hours to find the answer and figure out what it means when could have just asked a kind sole on here, found out, and fixed your problem and be back in business quickly. Anywho now that I added my own drama to the mix I will be done, just give the new guys a break, we all had to start somewhere, but if you ask me. Dont put the tach in, sell it and buy a welded diff or a tank of gas. Just me though GL
