i just installed an oem clutch on my sohc. when i start the car with the clutch in, there is no noise. in neatral, i let the clutch out and there is a light scraping friction noise. at a stop, i put it in first and no noise, then i start driving and there is noise. when coasting in neutral(clutch in) no noise but when coasting and i start to put it into a gear it makes the noise a little louder and more rapid. higher rpm the more rapid it is.
it may be obvious, but i appreciate the help narrowing down where the problem lies.

Did you change the Pilot bearing? thats what it sounds like it is... it probably also makes some noise when you speed up and let off the gas without the clutch in and you let it coast in gear.

Did grease up the throwout bearing/shaft?
you would need to take your clutch out and inspectthe bearing.

yea i can hear it pretty easily in gear speeding up and engine braking.
i may not have greased it enough....i remember sliding the fork/bearing assembly on the shaft by hand before connecting tranny back up. it moved super freely...

its not the throw out bearing...
its definetly your Pilot bearing.
If the throw out bearing was bad it would make the griding noise when you press in the clutch.. not when you let it out.

so if i dropped the tranny again, it would remove the fork and TOB assembly. then what other parts are in the way of the pilot bearing/busing(whatever)?
