Hey Zilvia. I'm sort of new here. I've been over at nico for about half a year, but I like the style and ideas over here more.
I'm 16, so this isn't going to be a crazy engine build or anything, but I do plan on throwing all my money into it.

When I first got it, it was a piece of shit:
terrible flat back paint

dirty interior

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q120/lucasweeks/SSPX0016-1.jpg

you can't see in the pics, but the drivers side QP was dented and hammered out as well.

it came with tein s-techs, but the stock struts were blown, so i threw on some GR-2's.
http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q120/lucasweeks/SSPX0021-1.jpg

next i wanted some wheels. i thought sportmax were the shit at first, then i learned. i bought some wheels off of crimsonrockett that were supposedly 15x8 -5. ends up they are eagle alloys 028 15x8 -30.

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q120/lucasweeks/DSCN4339.jpg

put them on the car :ugh:

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q120/lucasweeks/wheels005-1.jpg
looked like shit

then i decided i was going to go out on a limb and paint the car by myself with no help or previous experience.

definitely not the best, but way better than before.

then i got a piggy lip and ghetto mounted it because it had no mounting hardware.

decided to strip the interior since it looked like shit already.

still need to get the rest of the sound deadening off, then clean, degrease and paint. im thinking white.

the strut/spring combo sucked. wasn't low enough, too soft and didn't have the adjustments i needed for these wheels.
i got some megan street coilovers. :squint: i know. i got them for $475 new, so i couldn't complain. im saving up to buy some PBM ones next.

rear tires are way too big. 205/60. fronts are 195/60. im going to buy some 195/50 to replace the rears and put those on front. definitely need some rucas though. suggestions?
how can i get more negative camber in the front? or is it even possible?

tell me what you think

nice transformation so far and 475 for megans BNIB is an awesome Deal!

the coilovers in front will give you the ability to put negative camber in there.

thanks for the comments. i didn't clarify my question. i already maxed out the camber in the front, but as you can see in the pictures, the front wheels still aren't flush at all. is there any way to get more camber even though i maxed out the camber plates on the coilovers?

also - the front rubs A LOT. i can't even find where it's rubbing, it's just every where. should i just try to find where it rubs and start hammering?

work in progress, figure out the rubbing issue and get some track time and you will figure it out. keep focused and good work

ill be renting a ffender roller in the next week or so, hopefully ill figure out that problem. im not driving the car since it has no interior for the time being anyways.

do you still have the fender lining in on the front? that might be where it's rubbing for you. that's how it is for me... but my offset isn't as aggressive as yours. lol

to brian: i did buy wheels that fit. supposedly they were 15x8 -5. that would've been perfect. 15x8 -30 is a completely different story, so im doing my best to make these flush.

quoted for truthiness, i run BV arms all around, couldnt be happier.

take your time with the build and dont be cheap on parts. save up for legit shit and do it right the first time! good luck, paint looks good for the method.

Pull the fuck out of the rear with that fender roller. If you dont know how have someone help you.
Your car can get more neg camber. Bring car to alignment shop and tell them you want like 3degrees of neg in the front and watch them work magic son.

Srsly though, better fitting wheels would help mang.

In the past few days I've done some work to the car.

I finally got some dry ice and stripped out most of the sound deadening. THere's still some left, but Im just gonna use some sort of grinder/heat gun to remove it.

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q120/lucasweeks/DSC00061.jpg

I also rolled/pulled my fenders. Fronts got a little fucked up, but i dont really give a shit. I also lowered it a bit more.

Awesome work, dude! You're proof that kids our age can do something right, too. :)

(Teddy can, too, I'm just saying.)

get some 50mm overs for the rear and you be in bidness!

i sort of dig it, but the only thing that ruins it for me is the rear look. how the tires are narrow as shit, and they stick out like mad. looks goofy.

ZenkiCam
11-27-2008, 03:45 PM
at least put some fat ass tires on the rear and camber them in to the max, then it will look good.

haha very nice ~

holy crap, don't you rub driving your car like that with the wheels sticking out that much??

It's over flushed if you tell...how in world you get up steep driveways??

240lookis
11-27-2008, 08:47 PM
i dont get up steep driveways...

louisdaboois

you can get more neg camber in the front with escentric bolts, good for daily driving, but not so sweet with any type of harsh driving... also, get some rucas to get a tad bit more neg camber in the rear, the fitment isnt looking too sweet. but good job on the project for as young as you are. you'll get the hang of it.

where did you get those megans from? LOL HERRA GOOD PRICE.

Awsome man, what did you use to paint the car with? I like a ton

ayuaddict
11-28-2008, 03:15 AM
wait wait wait.

okay.

first off, getting RUCAs aren't gonna help. RUCAs give you more adjustability to compensate for neg camber caused by lowering. so max out your stock RUCAs and dump it more, get 195/50s all around and you should be good to go. or modify the stock arms if you need even more camber.

as for the front, slot the upper hole on the lower coilover mounting bracket if you're gangster, some people also slot the holes on the strut tower. or just pull the shit out of fender and lower more. and get those 195/50s

car looks really cool by the way.

this project looks great! props on doing all the work by yourself. alot better than me when i was 16. What are your plans with this car?

S13SilviaGirl

Please, do not take this personal.

We don't allow "build threads" unless the car is complete or really close to it. There must also be info as to how you got your car to that point. If we were to allow a build thread to exist for everyone, that would be all that was here in the chat section. Please post pics of your car in the pic thread, and fitment issues to the appropriate threads.

Thanks.
