That is so sad, even if it isn't a GT-R. But the guy has an odd quote in his first paragraph:
This is what happens when you have had so many tickets the state is left with no options but to destroy the root of the problem.
I've seen these pics before on a different webpage, and was told by a few members of that board (it was on www.automotiveforums.com) that the car was actually illegally in the US and therefore was mandatory that the vehicle be destroyed. I wonder what really happened now.

yeah, the ticket thing was a BS story.

The car was brought here by Nissan for testing at their proving grounds that they share with Calsonic in Arizona.

The car in the lower left of most of the shots is a JDM P11 Nissan Primera that's been partially stripped and had its chrome painted over.

I bet if you rooted through those piles of scrap you could find all kinds of random JDM Nissan bits.

Oh, yeah. Another thing I read is when a car has to be destroyed like that, anything salvagable (rear wing, wheels, headlights, taillights, steering wheel, etc) must be either completely destroyed or sent back to Japan, so it can't be resold again in the US ("blackmarket goods").

That is still such a sad sight to see.

Thanks for letting us know! That was another story I heard in that same thread. I almost posted that possibility, but didn't think anyone would believe me. You have proved me partially correct! hehe

All I knew was that the ticket thing was not what happened. They would just impound the vehicle and take away the driver's license (here in OK, anyway)

Saw this a while back, but heard a couple different stories about it. If I worked at the junkyard I would have to part the hell out of that car and sellit on eBay, imagine the money you could make off by putting JDM Skyline in the title  . Too bad it got crusedh, but that front passenger (well driver side on this car) tire still looks good :D , but I am sure it was crushed :(

the guy that gets to drive those cars around is cool, the S15 spec R on that site was at our az240sx dyno day

it was bad ass, here is the spec R gallery (http://www.az240sx.org/gallery2/S15-Spec-R-Gallery) on our site.
the story about the test vehicle is true, we all started crying when he told us the fate of those cars, but he gave most of us a ride in it first!:p
